Today would have been Elvis Presley's 90th birthday, and the radio is playing a lot of his music today. I am happy as I am actually a great fan of his music. When I was younger he was one of the "stars" whose poster I had on my wall. I was in France on holiday when he died, and remember that day ... so just thought I would share some of his music in case you are as big a fan as I am.

I have also snagged another meme, from [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat ... but [livejournal.com profile] kazzy_cee has yet again worked out the full list. Thank you ladies. So it's a photo a week going through the alphabet ... I am actually already behind, but at least I have week 1 of the first half ... ARAN ... this jumper was knitted by Mum for Dad and he wore it every winter for years ... I do still occasionally wear it, and yes, it is still lovely and warm.

Work went well yesterday - and I am going back again later, so that will keep me out of mischief.  I am actually hoping to get some icons made this morning before I head off ... well at least it save me from doing housework, doesn't it?

So, let's get a question done -

8. Do you tend to text people or phone them and chat?
Depends on the person.
I chat to my friend Christine on the phone every week
Others I text – but often just to arrange a get-together.
I have one friend in USA, so, yes we text all the time!

Right, let's get on.

.
debris4spike: (Default)
When I started this week I didn't think I would be working at all and would get some housework done ... yes, I managed that at firts.

But in the end yesterday I ended up working afternoon/evening ... and will be doing the same this afternoon.  So less housework done than planned, although it means I didn't get bored ... but my Bank balance is happy with me!

The good news is that I have had the splint off&on and gradually regaining full strength & mobility ... so another positive.

So, I need to get on and get a bit of sorting done, before having lunch, and heading into work.  But, as ever, here's todays question -

James Brown was born today in 1933. Known as the Godfather of Soul - can you name one of his songs?

Having Googled I knew some of his work ... but never great at remembering who artists are, I was not suprised.

Right, will see you tomorrow x

Snowflake Challenge #5

Search in your current space, whether brick-and-mortar or digital. Post a picture (a link to a picture will be fine!) or description of something that is or represents:

1. Something your favorite character would like
2. Something that makes you laugh
3. A fandom place you would like to visit
4. A fandom creator (pro or not) you'd like to meet
5. Something you find comforting
6. Something from a favorite TV series or movie from your childhood
7. A piece of clothing you love
8. A book or song with a color in the title
9. Something only someone in your fandom would understand

1. Something your favorite character would like
JD

2. Something that makes you laugh
Sorry, it's an old, and well known limerick, but it still makes me chuckle
There once was a man of Bengal
      Who was asked to a Fancy Dress Ball;
      He murmured: "I'll risk it
      And go as a biscuit!'
But the dog ate him up in the hall.

3. A fandom place you would like to visit
Atlantis ... the floating city from SGA ... that would be fascinating to see a city that could sink, or react to some of it's inhabitant's DNA

4. A fandom creator (pro or not) you'd like to meet
Jim Butcher - would love to know what is next for Harry; but also if the story to this point was organised in his mind when he first started writing the series.
[livejournal.com profile] slaymesoftly ... so I can say thank you for all the grea Spuffy fanfics.

5. Something you find comforting
My faith
I also love AO3 ... where my fandom couple will end up together ... yes, I check the tags first!

6. Something from a favorite TV series or movie from your childhood

7. A piece of clothing you love
IActually I love most of the things in my wardrobe (I am not someone who goes shopping for the sake of shopping).  As I type this I have red jeans and a baggy jumpre, but there again I love the formal styly of dresses that I wear to Church on a Sunday ... so nothing special to share (sorry)

8. A book or song with a color in the title
White Night

9. Something only someone in your fandom would understand
After seven years - why seven?  We are home now.  (Kathryn's thoughts)

Right, I think that is this set of questions done ... great selection, thank you.

Challenge #6

In your own space, share a favourite piece of original canon (a show, a specific TV episode, a storyline, a book or series, a scene from a movie, etc) and explain why you love it so much. . Post your answer to today’s challenge in your own space and leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I suppose when I read this question I had a momentary panic, and then the first thing that came to mind was Spike’s speech to Buffy during “Touched” near the end of BtVS season 7 (from 2002 – 2003)

This is what true love is … willing to just be there, help & support as needed. Not wanting (even if he hopes) for anything in return.

And, for those who don’t know it, I am single … so maybe this resonated when I first heard it as I am still waiting for my Spike (Knight on a White Charger) to arrive

Monday, Monday

Yes, I love music of the 60's. But was at senior school in the 70's, so

However, as I have the day off, I am enjoying this Monday, so far!

Right, let's do some scribbling ...

The weekend went well, although I still managed to get caught a couple of times in the rain. We have had some totally short, but very heavy, showers of rain. Luckily for me, both times I was on my way home, so that way you can get dry (& warm) easily.

Had a great time with Tim & Claire ... lovely to spend time with them. I had rough plans to meet Brenda today, but when we spoke yesterday we both realised we had loads of housework etc to do ... so, I am here instead.

Washing is on the line, and I have managed to sort a couple of things out that I have needed to do. I have one more set of photos to post, and then you are all up to date with my Europe trip ... And, next week I am off to London, so loads more to come in a couple of weeks (you have been warned!)

So, off today, and then clinics for the next 3 mornings. They are still trying to sort out my registration with the new company. They have said they will at some point sort out the spelling on my surname, but it will be some time. I think they are hoping that I will forget!

Now I want to get those final photos sorted, so -

30 – Haunted Refrigerator Night: Sometimes you forget about certain things that are in your fridge. And while you may have forgotten about them, they certainly haven't forgotten about you. Instead, they sit lurking in the back of the refrigerator waiting for you to delve into its darkest corners and unleash the disgusting rotten mess that lurks within those Tupperware sarcophagi. Is there anything lurking in the deepest recesses of your fridge that you're afraid to look at or deal with?

My fridge is reasonably small (after all, there is only me), so tend to know what is in there. I am a good girl and sort my 2 small freezers out a few times a year, so again, things aren't too ancient there, either.

Right, will catch up again soon x

One of our visits was one not scheduled ... and we went there for 2 reasons.  The first was that many of the group were Scottish, so we were taken to Black Watch Corner -
DSC_0600

As I got off the coach our guide called me aside, to show me the view across the main road .... Glencourse Woods.  I had already been taken there on a previous visit, but this time it was across the road from where I was ... However, for me, it was in memory of my Grandfather.  On the 10th August 1917 during the third battle of Ypres (The Battle of Passchendaele), this is where he was stationed. The lowere photo was taken in 2018 when the tour went along the other road, than the one we were on this time.

From there we went to The Berks Cemetery & Extension -

And, our final stop of the day was Ypres, or Wipers as Granddad would have called it. The city was totally destroyed during the war, but rebuilt to look as it did pre WWI. As I said, Claire's great-grandfather's name is on the Menin Gate ... but as you can see it is being renovated.

Since 1928, the "Last Post" has been sounded every evening at 8 p.m. by buglers of the local Last Post Association at the war memorial at Ypres in Belgium known as the Menin Gate, commemorating the British Empire dead at the Battle of Ypres during the First World War. The only exception to this was during the four years of the German occupation of Ypres from 20 May 1940 to 6 September 1944, when the ceremony moved to Brookwood Military Cemetery in England. On the evening that Polish forces liberated Ypres, the ceremony was resumed at the Menin Gate, in spite of the heavy fighting still going on in other parts of the town. These buglers or trumpeters, sometimes seen in fire brigade uniform, are members of the fire brigade representing the Last Post Association, who organizes the events. The Last Post Association uses both silver B♭ bugles and E♭ cavalry trumpets, with either British Army tradition being respected during services at the gate.

Sorry I wasn't around yesterday but ended up working - and it was all sxcanning/uploading files, so my bad eye was fairly sore by the time I had finished, so I decided not to turn on the computer at home.

Today clinic was good ... busy (even though we had 1/3 of them as no-shows) ... but as it was busy the morning went rapidly.  However I still managed to get time to pop across the corridor to get my Covid jab.

Now I have done some basic shopping, and am here for a bit.  I do want to phone Auntie Mary if I can, but I also have to get some icons made, as well as some more photos edited and posted.

So, ...

18 – Read an Ebook Day: Are you partial to ebooks? What are some advantages of ebooks over other formats? What sort of ereader do you use -- kindle, kobo, tablet, other? Are there some types of books that really don't work as ebooks?
Oh, my Kindle is always around - in fact I have 2 (as my old one still works and is in my work bag)

19 – Talk Like a Pirate Day: Do you have a favourite book, film, or TV show about pirates?
Come on, who doesn't like Pirates of the Caribbean ... mind you, there is also Captain Pugwash -

Right, photos soon x

And, So May Is Ending

... and it's cooler today!

Oh well I need to spend some time here, before heading to work. I am hoping to get another set of photos posted.

As I didn't post yesterday I just had to share this, even though it's a day late. Yesterday was apparently "Hole in my bucket, day" ... and like many people I knew the words as I grew up singing it, and hearing Mum sing it, and just in case you don't know it -

ExpandLyrics, so you can sing along .... )

Right, lets get some photos sorted, and hopefully posted.

Tomorrow morning I am meeting Claire, then working in the afternoon, and all day Friday, so it wil be Saturday before I can get back ... so ...

31 – Web Designer Day: We all visit various websites every single day of the year. What are "features" on some websites that really annoy you? What features do you appreciate the most on well-designed websites?
A cear menu, and a clear search button

1 – June is Audiobook Month: Do you use audiobooks? If yes, do you use them exclusively, or do you also read ebooks or physical books? If you don't use audiobooks, why not?
I am at present listening to "Cold Days" one of the Dresden Files ... but it is read by James!
I read proper books, but also always have a Kindle with me.

2 – Donut Day: Do you like donuts? Have you ever made your own? If/when you buy donuts, what it your go-to place -- is it a major chain (Dunkin' Donuts, Tim Hortons, Krispy Kreme, etc.), or do you have a favourite independent bakery?
Yes please!
I actually really like the plain sugar dusted, raspberry jam filled ones.

Right - see you soon ... or Saturday x
debris4spike: (Default)
... Sorry I did!

Yesterday I was asked the same question twice.  The 2 people asked for The Obesity Clinic.  That is help in a seperate building no more than 10 mins slow walk away.  However both the patients, who were in their 30's, thanked me, and stepped slightly away where I saw them phoning their lift to pick them up and drive them down there.  I know there are a lot os levels to weight problems, and I myself will never be slim & slender ... but something as simple as a slow stroll would certainly help them (as neither had mobility problems)

The joy of working with people!

On another note my brother sent me this latest toilet location, as we both visit London ever year.  And apparently there’s A ‘Loo With A View’ That Suspends Visitors 100ft Above The River Thames and all I can say is ... NO WAY ... in fact, I would prefer to wet my undies!

And finally, before I do the questions (and yes I am behind as life has been busy) I thought I would share some of the icons I have made for assorted comps over at DW.

This set is for Challenge 168  of your_favourites
This theme was Oscar Winners.
I am a huge Audrey Hepburn fan and love her first film, Roman Holiday, which she won an Oscar for. The King & I is not actually a favourite film ... but the character played by Yul Brinner is ... especially as I also saw him on stage.

And now, let's do catch up on the questions.  I know I still owe you photos from my trip last weekend, but haven't yet sorted them.  So will do them soon.

29 – World Piano Day: have you ever taken piano lessons? What is your favourite piece of piano music or song?
I tried learning the piano as a young teen, but could never get to grips with reading more than one note at a tims.
Dad played piano to a high standard all his life, and I love some of the pieces he loved as they bring back fond memories ... so it has to be Chopin Polinaise in A

30 – Virtual Vacation Day: if you could go away right now where would you go?
I have a couple of trips booked, but I would join my nephew in Australia.  He sent me some photos today and it looks like they are having an amzing trip

31 – Crayon Day: have you any fond memories of using crayons? What were your favourite colours?
Yes I have crayoned off & on ... but being colourblind I prefer geometric patterns now.

Right, let's get on
debris4spike: (Default)
I do love music from the 1960's and on free TV Britain has a programme showing 60's music all the time. If I have a lazy-ish I tend to watch some of it with a lazy cuppa. This morning was one of those days ... and here are a couple of those on this morning. I tend to forget how long the Stones have been around ... and for my The Animals sang "House of the Rising Sun", so that was an odd song, and an unusual combination.

Enjoy

The Rolling Stones - It's All Over Now - 1964

The Animals/Sammy Davis Jnr - The Rain In Spain (1965)

I have just had Christine on the phone. We normally chat on a Sunday, but her dad (at 95) is in hospital at present, so she will be there tomorrow.  He is doing well, and hopes to be home again in a few days.

I have made some ginger biscuits before that ... so now I am almost ready to get some lunch, make a sandwich for tea, and then head off to work.  But, as ever -

11 – World Plumbing Day: We take indoor plumbing for granted – until there's a problem with it. Have you ever suffered a major plumbing emergency? Have you ever tried to fix a plumbing issue on your own? Did you succeed?
Back in 1996 I had a burst pipe in my loft.  I am lucky I was in the house at the time, so was able to turn the water off at the mains.  But that is as complicated as my plumbing gets ... in my present house that tap is in the kitchen (or I have a stop-cock outside on the pavement)

12 – Craft Month: Do you enjoy being creative? What crafts do you participate in? What crafts would you like to try out?
I do quite a bit ... although not as much as I used to when I lived near Toni.  She is amazing at all crafts.
I knit, crochet, cross-stitch, do tapestry, and make icons on the computer.  I would love to try pottery.

Right, let's get on.

Hope you all have a good weekend x

A Mixed Day

Thursday, March 9th, 2023 02:08 pm
debris4spike: (Default)
This morning we heard that Topol had passed away. Over the years I have only been to the theatre a couple of times, but one of those was in 1983 when Topol reprised his role on stage at London ... and managed to get his autograph as one friend I went with knew one of the cast. It is a favourite film of mine, so one to watch again now. And, here is his most famous song ... and the one that I really remember him doing on centre stage.

While I was eating a late breakfast I had a text message from Toni as Pete had an appt at the hospital ... so we met at one of the large shops. I walked there, so have done my exercise for the day. We chatted in the shop, and then we went to Kentucky Fried and had an early lunch. They gave me a lift back, so I just walked back from the hospital. Pete has finished his chemo, but needs surgery so he is having a check-up today as the chemo has aggravated a long-term heart problem.

Now I really want to get on for an hour or so, before I head into work for the evening.

So, as I say it's a real mixed day so far ... may even make an icon before heading off to do some housework. But I also need to keep up, so ...

9 – Professional Pet Sitters Week: Have you ever engaged the services of a professional pet sitter, or do you usually rely on family or friends to take care of your pets when you're away? Have you ever done any pet sitting for anyone? Would pet sit for any type of pet, or would you limit your services to one specific type of animal (e.g. only cats, or only dogs, etc.)?
Jiffy used to go to a paid/professional dog sitter ... but for him it was home from home that I insisted on.
Yes, I have dog-sat for Toni ... had one of her dogs move in with me, but once I moved into their house as she had a very elderly dog then.
I have also horse (& chicken/geese) -sat for her. One was a classic that she went away leaving me with 13 horses to look after ... and came back to 14! One of her horses (on-loan) was in foal and no one knew, so we had a suprise "patter of tiny hooves" .... DJ (which are my initials)

Right let's get on.  I doubt I will get a chance to properly catch up with you all until tomorrow x
debris4spike: (Default)
Sorry I wasn't around yesterday, but a full day of work and fighting a cold meant that once I got home I ate something, watched an old episode of DR Who on the TV, and had an early night.

All in all I am feeling a lot better. Not yet 100%, but certainly a lot better that I have felt over the last 3 days. Still Mum used to say that a cold was -
"3 days coming
3 days here
3 days going" ....
So I have 3 days of getting better to go.

Clinic today was odd ... nice patients, mostly. However one of the patients just went home before finishing his appointment. The only reason I knew that was that another patient poke to him, so at least I knew where he had gone.

So as I have been off-colour I ended up I had empty food cupboards, so that has been a task for this afternoon. Now I am here and want to get some icons made, so there won't be any photos today.

I am working tomorrow, and then it's Sunday ... so ...

6. Are actual paper road maps obsolete? When was the last time you actually used one?
I still use maps ... even if it means I have to print it out from Google Maps.

7. Has a phone or car GPS's instructions ever resulted in you being completely lost?
Never use either!

8. What TV show has a theme song or opening credits sequence that you really love? Feel free to name more than one if you want!
Sorry it still has to be the theme from "Flashing Blade" ... I loved the show when I watched it in the late 60's, and learnyt the song when I first heard it -

9. Of websites you look at daily (or almost daily), which have you been paying attention to longest?
Has to be LJ ... I only look at a couple every day, and that is the longest one

See you Monday xsho
debris4spike: (Default)
I spoke last week about the amazing video that The Queen did to start her "party" on the Saturday evening ... and for those who haven't seen it -

Thank you [livejournal.com profile] gillo for that link - so glad I got to see it all the way through again.
debris4spike: (Default)
From the year that Slade released Merry Xmas Everyone in 1973 (when I was in my second year at senior school), I loved it ... and still do.  Since then, every year the first time I heard this song it makes me think of Christmas.  So, this morning just after my alarm clock went off, this was the song on the radio

Mum and Dad used to tease me about it, and so it makes me smile for 2 reasons

Work today was OK, although one of the patients felt he was 100% and couldn't see what the point of having the appointment was ... so to hear that he would be hearing from the consultant for a further appointment.  As always there are people who are not well, yet feel things are great ... others are pretty "OK" and yet complain about things.  people are odd!

Oh well, at least today is dry at present, so I may do a short walk to try to inspire myself to do some housework when I get back, or maybe it will mean I am too tired, and have the perfect excuse not to do some cleaning!!

As ever, before I go -

8. What is an unusual item you or somebody you know owns?
Ummm - what's unusual for you, might not be for you!
I suppose some people would find it odd that I have  a human skull on my lounge cabinet (it used to live on my bedside table)   His name is Charlie, in case you are interested
debris4spike: (Default)
Yay - our first day back at our Church for over 18 months.  We have been doing things on-line, and our return was delayed as we had building work done ... a new entrance foyer, refurb of the loos, new office space etc. Here are some photos taken last month if you want to see what I mean

Our first hymn was a modern one -

Even though it was one that Mum & Dad never even heard, it is one that actually reminds me of them. The last verse -

And on that day
When my strength is failing
The end draws near
And my time has come
Still my soul will
Sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years
And then forevermore
Forevermore

Mum spent much of her last few months singing hymns, and the last couple of days dad was alive, Tim, Claire & I (as well as one of his carers) sang a few hymns with him. So, yes, those words are very poinant for me.

It was lovely to be back, and see a few people that I have only "seen" online over the last 18+ months.

Work today was very slow-going.  Nice patients but 4 of the 5 seemed to take forever to need a wee, so I ended up back home late ... However the physiologist I was working with paid me for the extra time, so in the end it worked out better.

Now I need to get some Spuffy icons made, otherwise my [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy day will be here and I won't be ready.  Having made loads over the years it sometimes takes my brain some tme to try to think of a new vision of the same pairing.

Well, I must get on ... and ...

11. Do you still take hot showers when it’s hot out?
Yes, although possibly a bit cooler than I would in mid winter

I will try and catch up with yo all later today, and to answer your comments etc

Monday, Again

Wow how can it be another week already!

Clinic went well, although only 3 patients and we were still late finishing, so maybe it didn't go as smoothly as it appeared to!

Just been to have treatment on my neck & shoulders.  I have been seeing a Sports Masseur for a couple of years now as my neck/shoulders has always been still & sore.  A combination of horse riding falls, poor posture, and too much computer time, etc, etc.  The mobility is certainly better than it was, however this appt was well timed as I could feel how tense my shoulders were after the time with Auntie Joyce.  So now I am sore, but for the best of reasons.  So, having said that I will post the missing photos tomorrow, rather than aggrevate my muscles.

I am going to Tim & Claire's for dinner this evening, so that will be nice, although it means I won't be able to catch up with you all.

But before I go a couple of things.  One was that Don Everly died over the weekend.  I do love their music (this is a favourite of mine), but I do also love to see their clothing.  This clip was done in the 50's, although they didn't really change much into the 60's ... a bit of differnce between them and some of the "pop" groups of todays top 20.

And, of course -

23. Where was the farthest you’ve ever traveled from home?
San Diego, 5,398 miles away ... when I was staying in Los Angeles

So I'm off now - see you tomorrow x

Weekend Again

Saturday, March 27th, 2021 02:34 pm
debris4spike: (Default)
This morning I walked to Tesco again ... it was lovely warm & sunny.  as ever I bought too much and even though I got the bus much of the way home, my arms still felt very stretched!

And, tomorrow is Palm Sunday. Sadly the Church I "go to" doesn't sing older hymns, so I won't get to sing my favourite Palm Sunday hymn, unless they have it on the BBC programme of "Songs of Praise"

1 Ride on, ride on in majesty
as all the crowds 'Hosanna!' cry:
through waving branches slowly ride,
O Saviour, to be crucified.

2 Ride on, ride on in majesty,
in lowly pomp ride on to die:
O Christ, your triumph now begin
with captured death, and conquered sin!

3 Ride on, ride on in majesty
the angel armies of the sky
look down with sad and wondering eyes
to see the approaching sacrifice.

4 Ride on, ride on in majesty,
the last and fiercest foe defy:
the Father on his sapphire throne
awaits his own anointed Son.

5 Ride on, ride on in majesty,
in lowly pomp ride on to die:
bow your meek head to mortal pain,
then take, O God, your power and reign!

They are beautiful words in honour of a very special event in Jesus' life ... and as a horse rider I can see Jeus' power over creation. Anyone wanting to ride a colt would never choose a busy, noisy path. They take time to settle, to be "broken".

The other reason that I love the hymn is for the line in verse 3 "The angel armies in the skies", remind me of my visit, many years ago, to The American War Cemetery at Cambridge ... I really, really must rerun. The mosaics in the Chapel were presumably based on this line, as the Flying Fortresses (of WWII) and Angels combine -

Chapel_interior_-_Madingley_American_Cemetery_Cambridge_-_geograph.org.uk_-_1433158

Well I must get a couple of Easter Cards written to get the Monday morning post, but as ever I will do a couple of days questions before I turn off the pc -

27. Have you ever failed a class?
French, when I was at school, and then my A levels only just avoided being failures.
At college I failed Biochemistry (but then over 1/2 the class did, so we didn't hav to re-sit) and Neurophysiology (although my tutor told me it was the exam nerves as apparently I wrote a lot of negatives as positives, and vice versa!

28. Do you have a certain way you have to sleep? (Covered, not covered, with or without noise etc)
I like to be covered, lying on my right (with my right foot outside the bedclothes!), and my right hand tucked under the pillow.  I tend to have the radio on, but that's not essential.  I always have the window open

Right, that's me done - enjoy your weeknd ... and, don't forget, we lose an hour's sleep tonight (if you are in the UK)
debris4spike: (Default)
I find it sadly ironical that Captain Sir Tom Moore died of pneumonia and coronvirus. The man (for those who don't know) walked 100 laps of his garden last year and raised over 35 million pounds for the NHS charities. He also, at age 100 had a #1 in the UK charts and last summer he was knighted by the Queen

May he R.I.P. and may his family have those special memories to keep them strong during these difficult days.

Todays clinic was "good" we had 60% no-show ... so as we tend to have to keep in our designated location, I sat and read. So great to get paid to read Spuffy (yes, I had my Kindle with me). So frustrating though when people don't bother turning up ... or even ringing to say that they won't be coming.

In a few minutes, I am going to walk up to Tim & Claire's and then Claire & I are going for a walk, as the weather is actually quite nice (although cold), so it will be good to catch up with her.

But before I go ...

3. How do you feel about plastic surgery?

When Claire had her mastectomy she had an implant, so she has had plastic surgery. Yes, I can totally understand how cancer survivors and burns (etc) victims would want & need plastic surgery.

However when you see some "stars" who are so distorted by surgery I do have to wonder why?

So, yes, brilliant in rehab, otherwise, not so much.

Challenge #3

In your own space, tell us who, from one of your fandoms, would you most want to have dinner with (or tea, or a random afternoon visit), And why? This could be a creator, an actor, a costumer, a set designer, a director, a character, a composer, anybody! What would you talk about? What are you dying to know? Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

As most of you can guess by my usename I am a Spike (from Buffy, the Vampire Slayer) fan - and oh, yes, I would love James (the actor) to come round for a meal!

However, at present I am also reading a lot of Star Trek, Voyager fanfic ... and i would love to have Captain Janeway over for tea. That way I could tell her that she could be "with" Chakotay, as well as having him as her 2nd officer.

Someone else I would love to meet was the composer who wrote the music (especially the incidental music) for the film Last of the Mohicans. I have always loved the background music, even though most people never ever notice it ... but that film is special. I realised I was listening to the music all the time, and enjoying their relationship to the film.

(But maybe I will just stick with my original plan of having James visit me!)

Yes, 45 years ago I was baprised by my Dad at the Old Chapel in Upminster.  I do remember a lot about the day, a special time of confirming my faith.  As Dad was taking the service I was able to chose 3 of the 4 hymns (Dad chose the first), and they were -
O Come all Ye Faithful
O Jesus, I have Promised, to serve Thee to the end Both Mum & Dad also had this hymn
Hark The Herals Angels Sing Still my favourite Carol
O the Bitter Shame & Sorrow

The Chapel is no longer a Chapel, but has been renovated as an Event's Centre -
unnamed
This is the view if I was standing where the baptistry was and looking towards the door
