A Mixed Day

debris4spikeThis morning we heard that Topol had passed away. Over the years I have only been to the theatre a couple of times, but one of those was in 1983 when Topol reprised his role on stage at London ... and managed to get his autograph as one friend I went with knew one of the cast. It is a favourite film of mine, so one to watch again now. And, here is his most famous song ... and the one that I really remember him doing on centre stage.
While I was eating a late breakfast I had a text message from Toni as Pete had an appt at the hospital ... so we met at one of the large shops. I walked there, so have done my exercise for the day. We chatted in the shop, and then we went to Kentucky Fried and had an early lunch. They gave me a lift back, so I just walked back from the hospital. Pete has finished his chemo, but needs surgery so he is having a check-up today as the chemo has aggravated a long-term heart problem.
Now I really want to get on for an hour or so, before I head into work for the evening.
So, as I say it's a real mixed day so far ... may even make an icon before heading off to do some housework. But I also need to keep up, so ...
9 – Professional Pet Sitters Week: Have you ever engaged the services of a professional pet sitter, or do you usually rely on family or friends to take care of your pets when you're away? Have you ever done any pet sitting for anyone? Would pet sit for any type of pet, or would you limit your services to one specific type of animal (e.g. only cats, or only dogs, etc.)?
Jiffy used to go to a paid/professional dog sitter ... but for him it was home from home that I insisted on.
Yes, I have dog-sat for Toni ... had one of her dogs move in with me, but once I moved into their house as she had a very elderly dog then.
I have also horse (& chicken/geese) -sat for her. One was a classic that she went away leaving me with 13 horses to look after ... and came back to 14! One of her horses (on-loan) was in foal and no one knew, so we had a suprise "patter of tiny hooves" .... DJ (which are my initials)
Right let's get on. I doubt I will get a chance to properly catch up with you all until tomorrow x
