ships20in20 One of the prompts is asking why I ship ... they are so different. Different outlooks, backgrounds, family etc etc ... yet they worked together to learn about easch other. To compromise ... to fit into each other's lives.

I like some of the storyline of 7 of 9, although I was not pleased that she ended up snagging Chakotay!!

This set of 15 icons are all from Blakes 7 ... a TV show from the late 70's/early 80's.

It's the show, after Thunderbirds as a child, that really gave me my love of Sci Fi shows. I was never really a fan of Star Trek, the original series ... but most of the series after that I enjoy watching, and count the Voyager series as one of my favourites. It also led to my Stargate SG1/Atlantis love, as well.

As I said I made 20 icons for

ships20in20 .... I had chosen Avon & Cally from the BBC series Blakes 7. I had picked them lat month as my pairing, and as I had only made the one icon before I ended up in hospital, so I posted that one as well. This set are made using 20 icon bases/textures

For those who don't knw (most of you!!), Blakes 7 is a BBC TV series that was never repeated ... shown 1978 - 1982. I shipped Avon & Cally ... and it turned out to be the first of my ships that I still follow ... and all of which end up with the pair not ending up together.

Sadly Cally died at the end of Season 3 ... Avon, at the end of season 4!!

I ship Janeway/Chakotay from Star Trek Voyager, Buffy/Spike from BtVS, Jack/Sam from Stargate SG1, and John/Elizabeth from Stargate Atlantis.

Maybe that says something about my life, that I ship relationships that fail!!!!

I have actually been overall better - but in feeling mostly better I have tried to (slowly) get caught up with a few really outstanding housework tasks, and get things like a hair-cut ... you know ... Life!!!

Those boring everyday things that need to be done, yet really are totally boring, both to do and to talk about!

While I have been working on some slower shifts I have been busy and completed a set of 10 icons, following 2 lines on a bingo card. I am not 100% happy with half of them as they weren't done on my normal program, but at least I was able to get a set completed, so am giving myself a tick for that!

The first 5 are season 1, the other 5 are season 3 ... all BtVS though.

I had hoped to have tomorrow off, but both shifts had the people call in sick yesterday ... so am working all day, but had my Monday shift cancelled ... so have managed to make plans to go out and enjoy myself. So, the earliest I shall be back is Tuesday, so here's a catch-up, and ahead planning ....

19. Do people shorten your given name, and if they do, do you mind?
Unfortunately, yes. I love my name and most people at work are good at keeping it correct ... but all the family shorten it (except Dad), and some people at work think it's frienlier to shorten my name. But, by choice, I am Deborah.

20. Are you left-handed or right-handed? Would you like to be ambidextrous?
Mostly right-handed, although can slowly write left handed as I had to when I broke my right wrist last year..
However when I was an osteopath I preferred working left-handed.
I did judo left-handed, could not get my head around right-handed holds.
With fencing I learned my techniques right handed, but could fight either left or right ... my teacher actually said my technique was cleaner on my left hand!

21. Do you live near any trees? What’s the tallest tree nearby?
Yes ... most are similar heights, about the height of a 3 or 4 story house.

22. Do you have many lamps in your home, or do you rely on overhead lighting?
I have both. I have a spotlight where I sit, so when I am jigsawing then I have good light.

23. Do you own any clothing you only wear for a specific activity?
Not now ... although a coule of dresses (like the one I am wearing) I tend to keep for work, but not for any specific reason.

24. Are you good at packing when you go away, or do you pack all the things ‘just in case’?
I do pack "just in case" however much I say I wont!!

25. If you ended up on a deserted desert island, what luxury would you want to have with you?
My camera ... or my Kindle.

Right, I will try and catch up somewhat before heading off to work!

Well despite having a bit better time recently I have been slowly trying to catch up with housework, shopping etc. I also am really trying to get all the photo prompts done (but I shall get back to that over the weekend).

However I did manage to get thse icons made ... with a theme of Magnifying Glass.

I start with this post of 20 icons, for

characters20in20 all from the film
High Plains Invaders which is a film starring James Marsters ... so, yes, one I certainly had to watch!

I obviously wished too hard for learning work containing text, as this was another challenge in this set. We had to use at least 3 words from a song. In this case my choice of song was easy (and, no, I didn't know the challenge before I picked this film). James wrote and sang a song A Cappella about the back story of the film (and the words are below). For those who don't know the film, but worry about a couple of the scenes, the 2 of them do end up with a "happy" ending.

When I did the Snowfalke Challenge this January, one of the questions we were asked, was to set ourselves a challenge. I said I needed to get more used to working with fonts ... I wanted to be able to use different styles, colours etc on the same icon. Well his months challenge at

monthlyinspo was that of "fonts" .... So I managed to get 10 done. They are all from M*A*S*H the series, of which I was, and still am, a fan

I was late into the Stargate Atlantis fandom ... but love the series ... although I did hope that John & Elizabeth would end up together ... which is why I actually wrote a fic to sort that over-sight out!
