Eternal Refuge

Yesterday when I got home from work, I came with a large bunch of roses ... they are truly stunning.

One of the many visitors to the hospital had driven a couple of hours to visit his mother to find she was on a respiratory ward, so no flowers were allowed. So he gave them to me ... I said for him to take them home to enjoy, but he said he would prefer to give them to someone ... so, yes, I walked into the house with a beautiful bunch of flowers.

Overall it was a good day as I had met up with Toni & Pete in the morning for coffee (tea for me), and cake (none for me) ... it had been Pete's birthday last week, so I treated them to that, as well as giving him his birthday gift. A lovely morning.

Again I am back at work later, so am trying to catch up with things at the moment.

No … although add some to a cheese scone mixture to enhance the cheese flavour during baking.

30. It’s the International Day of the Potato! What is your favourite way to eat potatoes?
Again, I love potatoes … especially proper chips. I am not a great fan of mash. Though.

Day 29 → talk about things you are excited for next year

• I hope to get to visit deborahw37 ... so great to see a lovely lady, and a different part of the country.


• It's Auntie Joyce's 90th in January, so weather permitting Jiffy & I shall go there.


• I plan to go back to London in November again.

Day 30 → a list of what you got for your winter holiday

For me winter holiday is Christmas ... and Santa visited Jiffy and myself.  What I found under the tree included -

• 3 boxes of chocs, and some other individual chocs


• A complete set of Sharpe DVDs


• Earrings


• 4 Steve McQueen DVDs


• A pashmina


• A pair of slippers

So, even though I had a quiet day I was also a very lucky girl.

When you get an unexpected gift on a day you need it!

Thank you jaded_jamie for the sugary treat that hopped my way - I needed that this morning.

So, I had better get dressed, and wander off to the shops - otherwise "starvation" looms!

 The CD's arrived today - haven't had a chance to check them yet, but will listen to them on my drive down to Mum and Dad's in a minute.  So, firstly 4 Dresdon ( and the promise of more!), then the CD, then the loan of the memory stick, and now this.

So - you have proved me right.

To some really kind friend who has helped me to celebrate St Patrick's day, for the first time ever .... a lucky Shamrock!  

I shall keep you all informed as to whether I get a lucky couple of weeks ... or maybe the rest of the year will just be amazing.
