debris4spike: (Clarinet.)
For those who want to learn a musical instrument ... then join me in playing the clarinet.  So amazing, and silly at the same time!

Not happy, as I bought a new 2nd-hand one recently for £950!!

I haven't worked today ... but have, so far, had a good day.

One thing I am happy about is that, at long last, I got to my Dementia & Delerium training.  I was worried how I would cope with it because of Dad, but it's compulsary.  In actual fact it made me realise that Dad is doing OK and so am I!

I then went shopping in Exeter as I had to go to the bank ... I think I found the largest Christmas bauble ever ... and that also made me happy!

Yay, I managed to stay my full shift at work!

(I know it's only 7 1/2 hours, but was still a great feeling to do it!)
debris4spike: (Happy Birthday)
Happy Birthday Daddy - 90 years old today.

You are one very special man, and I love you dearly ... only 10 years to go to get you telegram for the Queen!

~~~~~~~
I had planned to write a post about how special he is, but ran out of time ... I'm off to Torquay soon, so it will have to wait till next week, as will comments etc I owe ... sorry.
See you next week!
debris4spike: (Dragonball)
As I said when I updated earlier it was a day off today ... and I am truly happy with the amount I got done ... and managed (I hope) to not over-do things in the process!
Today I had to leave work early, but in that I had the advantage that I was able to collect my new CD/DVD towers.  In this area there is a very active free-recycle of all sorts of things ... and someone offered 3 six foot towers ... so that was great to be able to get those.
debris4spike: (Christmas Tree + James)
I have actually made a few Christmas cards this afternoon ... need to think more about what I need to do, so it's a good start.
debris4spike: (Comfort.)
Having had a tough couple of weeks I saw an ex-collegue of mine today.  Colin and I trained together as osteopaths, although after graduation he specialised in cranial treatments, so works froma  different angle than I did ... and works on more holistic treatments.
Anyway, I had been having bad headaches as well as an increase in muscle tension and tiredness, so hoped even if he didn't have any long-term help he could ease the headache.
Anyway he has given me real hope ... he said that as I have had repetative respiratory infections, before this virus ... and the virus started with 2 infections then he would look at that.  He said as my chest muscles were so, so tight trying to get my ribs working, then I was getting the headaches.  Also that is why I am tired +++ ... because I am having poor breathing I am "running on adrenaline", so tire rapidly.
So I had a treatment, and go back ina  month.  Timing is bad as he is semi-retired, but there again, it needs to be slow steady release of the tension.
debris4spike: (Breast Cancer)
Still happy over the news that we had on Friday that Mum's breast cancer lump is continuing to reduce ... and is actually now a less solid feel to it, compared to how it was according to her consultant.
I had been due to work all day today and when I phoned the Bank to confirm that they questioned why and I said I was really not coping.  About an hour later they phoned me to say that they had found someone to cover the shift.
So it was great that I actually could go home to sleep and not get an illness mark on my work form.
Thank you Marie, that was really lovely of you.
debris4spike: (James - pointing finger)
yay - I got round to posting in the [livejournal.com profile] monthlydiaryday ... I have been really bad this year.
debris4spike: (Giraffe)
Having a tough few days at present so wondered what I could post ... but I turned on LJ to find this link waiting for me from my lovely Texan friend - thank you so much [livejournal.com profile] kudagirl
She knows I love 'raffes ... isn't he lovely?
debris4spike: (Spitfire)
I managed to get some letters written ... although sadly have run out of Cyan ink so can't print ... but at least they are all saved, the ink is ordered, so everyone I owe letters to will soon be up to date!
debris4spike: (Cheers)
Saw my best friend for lunch - so that was great (and as she was coming over I managed to get the energy together to give the house a clean)
So, double happy!!
debris4spike: (E.M.M.H.)
Yay, very happy.
I had to take Mum to hospital on Sunday eve just as I was about to leave for my place ... and to cut a very long story short, she has been under "home observation" until this morning to find out if she needed bowel surgery.
But all is well ... and she is OK, and so doesn't need surgery.  She has always reacted against anaesthetic, so with how week she is at present, that would have been a real worry for us all.
But all is OK.
debris4spike: (Spike - Bl**dy animal)
Yay - look at my new icon!
[livejournal.com profile] teragramm made a couple of lovely wallpapers last week, and I asked for an icon ... so look at my pressie.  She has also sent me links to help me to  make these beautiful images.
Thank you so much [livejournal.com profile] teragramm you are a grea friend.
debris4spike: (James - Discovery Channel)
Yay ... I have photos to share in a moment ... they are uploading at present!
My internet was on a  go-slow yesterday so I will have to post them next week!
debris4spike: (James - Discovery Channel)
I have just had an email from my nephew, telling me that in his spaere time my brother has written a book ... and kept it quiet!  It is called An Interesting Year
As ever he makes me both proud and happy.
Well done, Nick!
debris4spike: (RDE)
I have, as you know, had to cut back my working hours ... so even though there wasn't as much as I would have liked, today was still Pay Day
:)
debris4spike: (Riding DJ)
Having no work today has been good for my CFS .... some rest, some shopping ... but most of all I managed to have a long phone call with my best friend.
Toni and I met 17 years ago, and almost immediately became friends ... and soon realised we were each other's best friend.  Something neither of us had in the past.
It was really, really great to catch up, even though there was a lot of bad news to exchange ... firstly I can't get to her daughters wedding this weekend, as driving is something my body wont do.
But, whatever we chatted about overall made me feel loved and happy.
