And, Best Wishes For 2024

I hope you all had a good weekend - mine was a nice lazy one, with even the Saturday afternoon/evening work shift going well.

I did sit up to see in the New Year, watching the fireworks on the TV. I have only missed one year of doing that, so nice to keep up the traditions.

Now we are into 2024 ... and so far, no news!

Actually I went shopping this morning, and when I came back I had a short walk ... 2 reasons -

• Firstly I really do want to get back into regular walks, both to enjoy the area & fresh air, but also as exercise.


• Secondly I have decided not to do the Question Meme this year, but am going to try and post at least one photo per day, and as you can see here, sometimes more.

So here are a couple of extras from yesterday -

For those who read an old post of mine in October ... yes I ended up buying a new camera.  And the really super thing is that it's so much lighter, so hopefully this will make the challenge much easier!

So, let's get on and get a late lunch.  Hopefully I will catch up with you all later

Had any collections as a kid?

That was when I got my first giraffe - a wooden one, standing 8" tall ... now I have them from 1" to 40" tall, in most materials.

I did have quite a few dolls, more toy cars; but nothing specific that the family could keep buying for me.

Write a letter to someone who broke your heart.

Dear Jaykub,

I am so sorry that we had to part after such a short time together.  For me it was love at first sight, and I know in our time together you did look after me, and kept me safe.

You also taught me to know what it feels like to be loved.

Although you were only young when you left me, I do still think of you and the great times we had.  I wish we had been together longer, but those times were very special.  Thank you.

Love you Jaykub, miss you ...  Will see you in eternity.

Write a letter to your parents.

Dear Mum & Dad,

Thank you for so much.

The support of my training, and accepting my change of job. The friendship, as well as all that you taught me.
The example, love & care was something that I appreciate more than anything.

Finally let me assure you that I love you both, and miss you both. I know that you are at peace, you are in Heaven, but I do wish I could give you another hug today.

I will see you one day, and thank you for the knowledge of eternity.

I seem to have spent the last few weeks dipping in and out ... terrible.

I am totally in a muddle as I am having my bedroom furniture built, painted and the room decorated.  I decided while in a muddle I would get evn more muddled, knowing (?hoping) that as the days go along then my whole place will be more organised.  Please note I am not saying my life will be more organised, just the house!!

Anyway, what else?  Because I am having my bedroom done, and all my junk is in my spare room it means (Jiffy &) I are sleeping on the settee.  Needless to say, my old spinal injury has flared up for the first time in absolutely years.  So I make a good advert at the hospital ... work for the NHS and you have to stumble around dragging a leg!  I actually had to leave early on Monday, Tuesday is a half-day, but yesterday I was able to get most of the way through the day!  So, all in all I am getting better.  Today I don't have a clinic, so am not at work, although have to go in later.  I am sitting resting and doing this before trying to catch up with my Future-Learn course.

I went to Nick & Brenda's for lunch on Saturday.  And I must say Nick was more relaxed than I had seen him in literally years, and unlike when I was there at Christmas, he didn't disappear for a few hours.  So I am hoping that in writing his book he has been able to take another step on his way to that light at the end of his long tunnel.  I have read the book, and for me it was listening to Nick as I remember him in his twenties.  So although he can't process this, I do believe that he is managing to find a few of the positives that he talks about looking for.

So, sorry there is nothing much to talk about - and certainly no real reason for my "poor attendance".  I didn't even po in to do the 365 meme yesterday!

No news on the holiday.  I'm waiting for Annemarie to confirm those starting points.  So will catch you up to date when I know more.

Hope you are all enjoying February so far ... can't believe we are already more than a week in!  Will try and be a better girl!

What do you hope your future will be like?

I hope to have the time, health (and money) to be able to continue the part-time work, and to be able to travel and sight-see.



(I also hope to, in the near future, to catch up with all my comments.  I picked up a tummy bug that has come and gone ... so been really annoying!!)

Where you’d like to be in ten years.

Geographically I like living in Exeter, but would love to have the time, health (and money) to still travel abroad, seeing more of this lovely world.

What stresses you?

I hate it when people are always late ... both my mum and my best friend do/did this.  I am always early, and have a kook/Kindle to read so I am on time.

I hate lack of manners ... How long does it take to say Thank You?
