Sorry!

Actually Wednesday endd up as a bit of a non-morning.  So I was a good girl and listened to my body, rather than thinking of the missing photos!

Then yesterday, I picked up Claire and we drove to Tyntesfield, near Bristol, and met up with Brenda.  We had a super girls day out ... which means loads of photos to come!  It actually rained a bit on our way there, but when there it was a perfect day ... both in the weather and in the fun!

So, here are the missing questions - photos to follow ...

13. It’s National Internet Friends Day, which celebrates the special connections we form online. How do you feel about your online friendships?
I have some great internet friends.
In fact the person who probably knows the most about me is an internet friend.

14. Have you ever haggled and got something for a cheaper price – or would you never do that?
No - I am not good at that ... even when I was in Turkey where it is normal.

15. Would you rather read a romance novel or a mystery novel?

Historical romance ... I used to read any romance, but have gone back to historical ones in preference. Although when I read fan-fic they always have my favourite "pairing".

Right, hope to be back soon with some photos

Extra Home Time

Actually I should have been at work this morning, but when I got in my shift was cancelled at the last moment.  As my tiredness had, at long last, began to catch up with me I was actually glad to get home.  It also gave me a chance to do this ... and to post some photos in a moment, so really a win over all.

I have also been able to sort out my car maintanance insurance, and a cancelled dentist appointment ... so not really lazy, but at least I can do things at my own pace.

So, how are you all?  I did have a look through last night, but probably missed some things as I was tired ... sorry!  I won't be able to re-visit later as I am working on reception then, so if I don't catch up now, it will be tomorrow.  But before I do that -

23. Who’s the biggest “pack rat” you know?
Sorry, haven't a clue what the question means!

Right, let's sort photos x

11 Do you like having your picture taken? Why or why not?

Another easy one - no I don't!

Easy answer as well, it's for the same reason I don't look in mirrors, I don't think there anything special about me (and yes I dare say people will want to comment at that ... but please don't). I was bullied from 10 - 18, and sadly it has left me not liking what I look like. Terrible to say, and it used to break Mum's heart, I know, but "friends" can cause long-term pain.

Anyway, that's my problem, not yours! (And, yes, you guessed it, I am putting a no comment link on this)

####

On another note, I don't work Fridays ... even in the past when I was fully fit & well. However this evening (yes I have to be in by 6pm) I have a 2 hour training course as we are having a new computer system ... it's been a 2 year project for the hospital, but now down to the last month, so all training has to be done by then for all the 9,000 members of staff

Day 5

In your own space, promote three communities, challenges, blogs, pages, Twitters, Tumblrs or platforms and explain why you love them. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

That's a bit hard as I haven't been so constantly on-line over the last year. However, here are goes -

1) Seasonal Spuffy ... [community profile] seasonal_spuffy

Run over on Dreamwidth, now, but cross-posted to LiveJournal. This is run for the love of Spuffy ... ie, Spike & Buffy from BtVS ... point to my icon! The first OTP that made me discover the life of fan-fiction, and LiveJournal.

2) The Dresden Files

Now I hate to say this one, as I really do not like FaceBook ... but, I will go there to see what is being posted. It is a closed group, but just a couple of questions to answer, and you can get to "chat" with other Dresden Files (by Jim Butcher) lovers.

3)  Photo Scavenger

This is a site over on LiveJournal, and again a closed group  (however all you need to do is ask, and if you are a real person, you get to join).  The site  consists of a challenge per week to take a photo (for example this weeks challenge is "evening")

Tower Hill, etc

I actually made use of "Black Friday" weekend this time .... having taken thousands of photos over the years, my friend Christine suggested that I did what she does ... print a few photos of each trip, celebration, so there are a few per year, with the rest still in cyberland. So managed to get quite a few photos printed at half price. So that will be a task at some point to get them in albums.

As I am off work still this week, I am managing to get a few photos of my London trip posted.

This first set is of around the Tower Hill area. I went to The Tower a couple of years back, but this time I was on my way to see HMS Belfast (photos in next set)

I joined [livejournal.com profile] photo_scavenger when it started and in her latest post, [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat pointed out that a lot of people have drifted away.  I will admit I am one of them, despite my best intentions.  I wonder how many on my f-list are members ... and if so if they ever have a go.  All it is, is one photo-challenge per week.

Anyway, as I'm off sick with flu, I have gone through this years holiday photos to post the last 6 colour challenges.  All were in America, July 2017.

Colourful, brown, orange, grey white, blue

So, pop over and have a go!

Hi - Remember Me?

I am back - and to say that the last month was amazing is such an understatement.  Brilliant, fantastic .... etc, etc.

I still am not up to date with my holiday blog, but am getting there.  For those who didn't follow it, but want to have a look, the first post is here .... it will save me having to import my photos. However, as I took over 3,500, if anyone wants to see more of anything, they only have to ask.

Hope you all had a good month - sorry I missed birthdays etc, but was staying off-line as much as I could so people who know me wouldn't realise my house was empty.

Did I miss any vital news, if so let me know ... otherwise, it will be a day or 2 before I am fully organised, then ... watch out!

... since my big update of last week.  But thought I would at least type that as I have been missing so much over the last couple of years!

So nothing new on any of those points, although I have had a bit of a rough week with the chronic fatigue.  I fell asleep last Sunday evening and missed Church.  Then on Thursady I left work early, and fell asleep for the whole afternoon and missed Church music group.  However I have been a good girl and not got upset over it.  Today I am feeling quite a lot better, although got up late and am missing the gym.  Still I have made some spicy biscuits and aim to do some more knitting of my cardigan this afternoon, or evening.

One other thing is that I joined www.photocrowd.com which is free ... thought it might challenge me more on the photos.  Although if I am as bad with that as I am with [livejournal.com profile] photo_scavenger it won't help at all!

Oh well, as I said, no news ... so hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  You never know I may get some comments answered today!

Day 26 → talk about politics or current events this year

I always vote, whatever the year, and although I have never said I suppose a few people have guessed which side of the government I vote for.

I was very surprised about Brexit - but was also upset that some people wanted a second vote, as I thought that whatever a result, then we would deal with the result. I was incredibly saddened by the hatred that sprung up, as well. Whatever my politics, I have friends from all strands of the government ... no one should have to be murdered (as Jo Cox was), just because we have a difference of opinion.

I am not greatly involved in politics watching - Dad was though. However, again, if that's your choice, I am happy for you.

Day 27 → 3 goals for next year

Well I joined the gym a couple of months ago, so I should have waited and then that could have been #1!!!   Anyway, here are a couple of thoughts

  • Get back to photography

  • Do some more fan-fic writing

  • Practice my clarinet regularily

So, hopefully this time next year I will be able to report back!!

Day 21 → your favourite websites this year

Well, it still is LJ! Even if I have been a bit MIA this year, I still love it, and miss it when I can't get too involved.

My other website I like is Instagram, although I tend to use a different one called 6tag. But I do like sharing a few photos ... but also looking at other photos, especially ones about travel, or giraffes .... or Westies and other dogs.

The other sites are MSN & BBC news, Wikipedia, ... and eBay, of course.

[livejournal.com profile] kazzy_cee asked me - Can I have a photo of your favourite shoes?

I am not really a shoe person - to me a pair just need to be comfy ... my shoes I wear to Church may have a 4" heel, but they are still comfy!  However I do love these shoes ... I bought them last week to wear next Spring with jeans ... flowers ans sequins, what's not to like!!!

ExpandCan't wait for the spring to come )

[livejournal.com profile] thenewbuzwuzz asked me - How about the view from your window(s) or something you can see from there?
She also asked me about my fence paintwork ... so can cover both answers.

debris4spike: (Hi)
A couple of weeks ago I asked for people to ask me to photograph something.  Sadly, I only had a couple of responses but they both included photos inside my house.  As I have posted since, I am hoping to get a load of work done, so some rooms are empty, other rooms are completely full.  So, I haven't forgotten the requests, just will delay until I can actually see furniture again!!

Also, if anyone else wants to ask for a photo of something, please feel free to add to comments.
debris4spike: (M&D wedding)
You have seen pictures of Annemarie when she was over last year.  She is someone I have known all my life as her father was friends with mum & dad.  He was a missionary in Angola and whenever he was on furlough, if he came to England he stayed with us.  Sadly Annemarie's mum died of cancer in 1985, and she came from USA and spent about 6 - 8 months with us.  She was meant to be with her father, but when he talked about marrying again, she couldn't cope and came to cry in "Aunt Sylvia's" arms.

So, when she and Bob got engaged, they asked Mum & Dad to go to the wedding, and for me to be Maid of Honour.

So 25 years ago today I walked up the aisl in Northville Michigan to stand up for Annemaie.

It brings back great memories of the day, and our month in USA to post this ... and also memories of a steep learning curve in the differences between USA & England weddings!

Congratulations - here's to the next 25!

I am still battling the internet and trying to upload my photos ... I have now contacted my provider and they are meant to be looking into it.  So, so frustrating that even one at a time they wont upload.  As I am having problems I may just scribble some things about my London trip (if you want) and post the photos when I eventually get done.

While arguing with the internet I have also been working on some icons, and did a bit of a silly thing ... I made an icon for [livejournal.com profile] btvsats20in20 (we were given a screen-cap to work with) and I quite liked it, but decided to do a different approach.  Now I have 2 totally different, and I like them both .... GGGGGggggrrrrrrrrrr .... what a twit, I should have stuck with my first thought!!

Health-wise things are slowly tightening up in my muscles ... one month till the specialist's appt, so hopefully I get some answers then.

Hope all is well with you

I know I am meant to be actually cleaning, but thought I would scan ina  few pics ... these are all taken of me before the age of 11.  Looking at the school pics it reminds me how much the bullying has really affected me - I hate having my picture taken, but here in these pictures I look relaxed.

How many people are still there.  It has been quite in LJ land and I miss you.

Anyway, busy plans today.   I am unpacking (at long last) all my photo albums, and hoping to finally sort my spare room to look like a bedroom rather than a dumping ground.  I am waiting for a new mattress to be delivered, which was promised last week, but they got the time wrong and I had a shift.  So today I am off work, but am determined to use the day positively.

So, now I have a question for you all.

What photo would you like to see?  I have photo albums from pre-birth(yes I have a few of family) dating up to 2007.  So, ask for a picture I will find it.  I do warn you that it will take some time, as I still have no index worked and have just under 2000 pictures!

So - ask away - anything, more than one, silly, weird ... and I will post, I promise.  Good Luck, with your choices!

Wow another weekend half way through - back to Exeter to night as the plumbers I told you about yesterday are coming early!

Church was good - we finished with a chorus that I first learnt when I was 9 and it's amazing how singing it brought back memories of the location. Nice when you get triggers of one thing leading from something else - music is very powerful, isn't it?

As you now know, internet use will be limited and last week my friend [livejournal.com profile] kudagirl  sent me a link to a 30 day photo meme someone on her list is doing. I told her I would do it next month. However, I am going to do day one today!
