Yes, his back was injured, but also healing.  I am sure over the years he has had worse problems and not bothered contacting me.  However it was lovely to see him ... until we started chatting ...  It turns out their neighbours who, until now, have been good friends, have put in for a super large extension.  It would take light out of their study, kitchen & utility room ... and leave them with a view of a wall in doing that.  So they were both very upset, and angry over what was happening.  About 3/4 hur later Claire arrived and we talked a lot more.  Claire & I then went and got chicken & chips for us all (my first time of that meal since Jiffy crossed Rainbow Bridge ... it used to be our regular Saturday tea).  So I opened wine, and Tim had beer ... and we had a good evening.

So, all in all, whether I was able to help Tim much or not, it was good to see them and let them let off steam.

Just got in from work this morning ... a good shift, although very cold this morning.  I now have furry slippers on and waiting for the toes to thaw,

I want to get some icons done, as I didn't get many done yesterday with the emrgency house-clean I had to do yesterday.  As ever - (and how did I miss a day??)

7 – World Ballet Day: Have you ever been to a ballet performance? If not, is this something that might interest you? Have you ever had ballet lessons?
1979 - 1983 I was at college in central London. A group of us went once a year for the 4 years.
But, no, I am a fairly elephant when it comes to my feet

8 – World Opera Day: Are you an opera buff?
I know a lot of the music, as I played in a "serious" classical orchestra for years.
I have only been to one, a Mozart one, but it was with friends and was done in a modern re-think ... so although I like some of the music, I truly hated the performance

And, yes, I really will catch up with you later x

I think you can object to an extension under the ‘right to light’. It’s always worth objecting to building work if it affects your view/light allocation.

I was going to say exactly the same thing.

Yes, that is the sad part, as it will probably sour relations either way.

Planning disputes are SO stressful. I hope they can stop this happening.

I guess the friendship was very limited, or just one-way.
