Nothing Much To Post ... So ...

I thought I would post this picture of the family taken at Nick's 50th.  Sadly I couldn't get there as I was too ill .... maybe that is what caused some of the upset, but at the time it took me all my strength to drive the 2 miles to dad, rather than the 150 to Nick.

I had to look back as I must have missed your post about a rift. I'm sorry to hear that - but I think you are in the right to keep the jewellery as your mums wish was that you (as her daughter) should have it and I don't see that the boys should challenge that. After all - I'm assuming everyone will get a share of the house sale eventually. I hope your brother sees sense soon. *hugs*

Yes, I didn't think of Mum's jewellery as anything other than that - sadly Nick seems to count each stone, however large or small, in every ring. The house sale will, at present, go to look after Dad (although he does have a work pension which helps). So, if Dad lives to be 100, no there won't be any money left .... I suppose I shall get the blame for that as well!!

Sadly Nick is one of these people who never, ever changes his mind.

Just catching up a bit with LJ myself. Sorry about the family thing. I totally get it. My parents are trying to give us stuff while they're still around to avoid some of these issues, but I know one of my nieces and I both want my Grandmother's wedding rings. It'll be interesting to see where it ends up, but I'm not holding my breath. My sister always gets her way. See? Family stuff is universal.

Saw the post too about trying to get your Dad to church. He looked great in the picture - too bad he didn't get to go that day.

I think about you often and hope you continue to keep your chin up despite the health and family issues. Your LJ friends adore you!

Family can be hard, I just wish that we were closer again. I pray that he is happy, but with so much sadness in him, I do wonder.
