Although I still am having problems with my internet my provider has diagnosed a line problem, and is going to repair it ... so am happy that next week you should be bored by my pictures again!

Bored? NONSENSE! Don't say such silly things, they are lovely.

(Unless you're being ironic in which case, carry on.)

How do you get internet? We used to get ours via the phone company (DSL) but now we get it through the local cable tv service (we just don't get the tv part of it) and it's much faster.

Is that a new icon btw? PRETTY!

I didn't realize that was a photo you'd taken - great job! It can't be easy getting good images at these events (don't know how far off you are or what the lighting conditions are. The marbleized paper background is gorgeous too.

I'm working on my Tara icons btw and of course have all sorts of alts already (and so far from done!) my new bifocals (and worse vison) are making it much harder than it used to be, alas. I may have to stick with the big artworks in future.

Vari-focals? My eyes hurt just thinking about it.

When I went to vermont I had very little problems with the bifocals but most of what I was doing was looking off in the distance - and I'm nearsighted so cue the irony.

I tend to always work on my icons before I reduce them to 100px.

I used to do that back when I made Moulin Rouge icons and then when I'd shrink them - oops. Stuff that looked great at even 200pixels square might look horrible at 100. So I got in the habit of working on them at smaller size. The exception was plain icons with no texture etc but with text, it was easier to work with at 300square. (It didn't occur to me back in the day to leave it larger size because icons were the only fanart I knew of!)

This was in photobucket and PB does not do a good job of shrinking things and retaining detail. ipiccy does quite a bit better at retaining the quality of the image.

Anyway, my icons are up ... hope you like some of them

I just replied there - I do!
