Swine Flu

I have just heard from my sister-in-law that my brother Tim has been diagnosed with Swine Flu.

He was taken ill on ednesday - and tried paracetamol and hot drinks, then spoke to someone this morning.  So, he is now on Tami-Flu ... And we will hate to wait and see how quicly that starts to kick in.

Hope that it runs it's course and he's OK - apparently the vast majority of people are fine and it's no worse that 'ordinary' 'flu.

Thanks - I'm sure he'll be fine. I had "normal" flu a few years ago - so know that you can feel rough with that!

He spoke to Mum on the phone yesterday - and mostly just seemed bored!

The good news is it's nasty but for most people it's milder than regular seasonal flu so he should be fine in a few days

Well according to Mum, when sh phoned, he got up for lunch today, but was wearing a couple of jumpers! Still he is on the TamiFlu, so hopefully that should beging to make a huge difference.

Sounds nerve-wrecking, but what I hear it's just like normal flu for most. The kid who plays Ron in Harry Potter had it a few weeks ago. Where does your brother live? I hope he feels better soon!

Yes, I had heard about that actor. He lives in the city of Exeter, about 1 hour from me, and about 1/2 hour from Mum and Dad.

I hope he's feeling better soon! K had suspected (diagnosed over the phone) Swine Flu a few weeks ago, and the Tamiflu worked very quickly. It was a worrying few days, but she's fine now. :)

Good luck. For me the tamiflu started kicking in roud about the second dose I took. Lots of rest and fluids. I also tried to forcefeed myself as the saying goes, starve a cold, feed the flu...
