Sorry, but I sort of "crashed". I have managed to keep going at work, but ended up sleeping most of each afternoon this week ... so haven't been on-line at all. It's been weird - don't know if I crashed, or picked up some bug, but whichever it is, I am beginning to feel better. So, I will catch up with the meme and then turn off the pc again ... so won't be catching up with you all. Sorry. Hope to catch up soon

Hope you all noticed that it was the 50th anniversary of D-Day on Monday!! For those looking at their calendars and thinking I am going mad as it's not June. In 1971 England went decimal in it's currency. I do remember that morning walk to school, spotting all the new signs in the shops.

Well let's do the Daily-Meme and turn off the pc again .......

15. When I have a look around my home, it’s very obvious that I…
... love giraffes, and never throw any ornament away. Also, that I owned a Westie

16. Within the next month I will…
... hope to meet up with friends for walks, again.

17. 5 years ago I never thought…
... I would feel as rough as I do now.

18. What are you most fascinated by at the moment?
wow, can't think of anything that is really pulling my focus especially. A few things seem to be taking my interest at present.

Well, sorry it's short, but I don't want to push things today.

I Am Getting Old

20 What did you use to spend your pocket money on?

I must be getting old, as I can't remember.

I know I put it towards presents for the family. However we didn't get much, so what it went on other than that would not be very much at all.

Day 13 - What Is Your Earliest Memory.

Day 14 - If You Won The Lottery

Well I should say I don't do it!

However if a large cheque arrived on my doormat today I would make sure that Mum & Dad had some so they could hire gardeners/decorators etc so they could get a comfy living with everything that's going on in their lives.

I would pay off both my brother's mortgages (I don't have one) ... and give a small-ish amount to each nephew for college days.

For me I would get my hall/staires/landing decorated and my garden sorted out.

I would travel to see my aunts, as well as other friends in England ... and would also then travel to visit friends around the world ... warns you all to put the kettle on and be ready!

Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the U.K. Economy:

* If you spend the money at Asda or Tesco, the money will go to China , Taiwan or Sri Lanka

* If you spend it on petrol your money will go to the Arabs

* If you purchase a computer it will go to India , Taiwan or China

* If you purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico , Honduras and Guatemala
* If you buy an efficient car it will go to Japan or Korea

* If you purchase useless stuff it will go to Taiwan

* If you pay off your credit cards or buy shares, it will go to management bonuses and they will hide it offshore.

Instead, keep the money in the UK by:

1. Spending it at car boot sales
2. Going to night clubs
3. Spending it on prostitutes
4. Buying beer or whisky
5. Getting yourself a Tattoo
6. Visiting a bookie
(These are the only UK businesses still operating in the U.K. )

Conclusion: Be patriotic - go to a night club with a tattooed prostitute that you met at a car boot sale and drink beer day and night !

No need to thank me...just glad I could be of help.

Actually overall I must say there are a lot of positives ... It started by me paying some bills, so now the bank account is absolutely empty.  One of those was I decided to pay for a years prescription charges in advance ... thus saving money, but the £104 was not a nice amount to spend.

Yes, I took today off work, for a couple of reasons.

The first of which was to get my decorating done - so my bedroom is finished and things packed away.  I ampleased to have got it done (must take some pics at some point!)

I also wanted to "do" something for my birthday, so went to Torquay early, had a walk along the harbour and went to the museum.  Yes, I took pics, but when I got to M&D's it was to find Dad's pc had died so I am using Mum's laptop, which I hate.  So I will put the pics up on Monday.  I know I still owe you somefrom Annemaries trip/holiday ... so I must get on and SPAM you then.  Good afternoon, although I got back to find a parking ticket on my car ... the Traffic Warden was obviously blind, so I now have that to sort out!

So, I shall be on-line a bit, but not as much as I hoped as I don't like using Mum's laptop.  The keyboard feels wrong ... and no mouse.

Hope you all had a fun Friday - and are looking foreward to a funner weekend!

2011 - Day 217

There are always bills to pay, aren't there? Still finalising bills from Bude, and although I'm in theory, at least, resting I went to the local bank to pay some bills this afternoon.

Getting back on track after Christmas andd New Year means bills to pay - so a walk to the Bank was today's urgent task!  It makes me smile that the Bookies is next to the bank ... we have 2 other banks in the town, one is directly behind where I'm standing and the other is just off picture on the left.

debris4spike: (James - hold on)

... There's Good News, And There's Bad News

Well I felt that when I read of James proposed trip to England - I was so happy to hear there were plans, even though I have literally no money.  Having been self-employed all my life means I payed less tax ... which now means I only get a basic "living" wage.  Not that I can moan - but hearing news like that had me split for a whole second (!) before I decided that I was going to go - whatever.

Then I thought - how can I tell Mum ... she isn't happy with my trips at the best of times (even though I'm all but 50!).

Still I wasn't going to no t go - although I won't be going to The Hub, which is all that's announced (so far ... I hope).  I'm a James fan with no money, so hope to get to spend whatever pennies I don't have on him!

~~~
Then, I get back from M&Ds last night, start watching You Tube links of GotR ... make a cuppa, to have bad milk - yes, my fridge has died .... More money I don't have ... and so at 9 I'm off to see how much that will cost me!
