TALK ABOUT A COMMUNITY SPACE YOU LIKE. It doesn’t need to be your favorite, or the one where you spend the most time (although it certainly can be). Maybe it’s even one that you’ve barely visited. But talk about that space and how it helps support fannish community.



One space I couldn't do without is the Archive of Our Own website.

As I often say it was sadness at the way BtVS finished that led me to write ... and led me to fandom.

Of my main fandoms ... most of my OTPs did not get together on the show. So, thank goodness for AO3. Adding a filter to a show, and there are stories enough to .make me happy. And, for most of ther more popular shows then new stories are added on a regular basis.

So, now Buffy & Spike, Katheryn & Chakotay, John & Elizabeth, Jack & Sam, Avon & Cally and Margaret & Hawkeye have happy lives together.

Sorry, but I do like a happy ending.

You are welcome, of course. I hope to give a much-needed boost to interaction on LiveJournal, and to restore the sense of community existed on this site back in the day. I know a lot of people miss it.

I picked up your post to the_lj_revival and followed your invitation to check out your Lj - hope it goes without saying you're welcome to check out mine.

I'm curious to know what it is about the AO3 website that you could do without.

And also, had you heard about the Amazon Stargate revival (apparently they inherited the rights when they picked up MGM)? I must admit I missed the November announcement.

I too think Elizabeth is a far better fit for John than Teyla - although I never understood why Teyla didn't get the 'governorship' of Atlantis. She was well qualified for the post, having a foot in both galaxies, being connected to the Wraith and having a leadership role with her own people.

I came very late to SGA via badgering by fannish friends, but I've followed SG1 since the original Kurt Russell/James Spader film.

Like you I was late to SGA, but loved SG1 from those early days.

Yes, Teyla would have been a great choice - working with the humans for years, yet a native ... so could see life from both angles. Yes, John & Elizabeth ... when SGA finished I ended up writing a fic that corrected that wrong!!
