Welcome December
Monday, December 1st, 2025 11:33 amWow, as quickly as I feel I am getting slightly better, I realise that I am not progressing as fast as I hoped. When I have a good day I try to get a few things done, and really try to restrict what I do to protect my leg ... but then really suffer later.
However I am totally off the pain killers now ... so that's positive. The leg is constantly aching, but is no worse now the pills are gone, so decided it was sensible to stop them.
The leg still has no strength at all ... so the crutches are there, and even though my physio wants me to learn to use them in a different way so there's more pressure on the leg, rather than the arms. However I still fibd, after a short distance, I am really limping badly. So, over the weekend I opted out of trying and walked as I had been on my daily walks.
I actually managed to get some Christmas shopping done - bits and pieces on a couple of days ... on one of the days I actually bumped into Claire, as well, so we had a cuppa.
On Saturday (don't tell Mum), but I made Mince Pies ... Mum wouldn't let us have them until Christmas Day itself!!
Then in the afternoon I walked into the hospital to see the volunteer who had emergency spinal surgery a month before my injury, if you remember. He is really progressing ... in fact while I was there we had a walk together ... we must have made a great couple with him using a frame, and myself on crutches. he is still negative about things, and I found myself being positive about how far he had come ... which made me smile, as I realised I was saying things to him that people keep saying to me!
Sunday I watched "Church Online" ... I still have no idea when I will be able to drive again. But, since Covid, most Churches do the online services, not the same, but still good, Other than that it was a slow walk, and a lazy day.
Now we are in December ... I need to sort out what pressies I still need to buy, as we have the family get-together on Saturday ... and want to start sorting out my decorations.
So -
27. Have you ever slept in socks at night?
No – I like having cold feet.
