Can't Believe It's Been 4 Years
Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024 03:54 pmHow can it be 4 years ago that little Jiffy crossed Rainbow Bridge ... where do the days go? Some days I still expect to see him in the house. he may have been a little person, but he filled a big place in the hearts of those who knew him.
Love you Jiffy - Miss you My Little Man

One of my last photos wih him.

I didn't get out to see his grave today ... hope to get there soon.
Yes, the plan had been to get over to see Jiffy's grave, and have a walk round the cemetery, which is such an amazing place, but I ended up over-sleeping this morning.
Then I found it very hard to get motivated ... maybe if I had done the trip it would have helped me focus, I don't know.
Anyway, this afternoon I have already done better, as I have had a walk, and then made the last couple of thesee icons. They were made for PeriodDrama_IC over on DW .... with a theme of Celestial. All the images are from Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman

As ever, they are all snaggable, with credits on my icon journal.
I really ought to be getting some cleaning done ... so maybe that's why I didn't get motivated this morning, and am now scribbling away here! Still it will get done later today, or tomorrow, I promise!
But I really want to get this posted before I
23. Has anyone in your family had a 50th wedding anniversary?
Yes - many of them (in fact Mum's cousin celebrated their 70th anniversary)
The first immediate family was Mum's Parents ... Boxing Day 1970 (so I am 10 in this photo, Nick is all but but 6, and Tim 4). This is our lounge -
Dad's parents was in 1974 but we don't have photos as Granddad was not at all well for the last 10 years of his life. But we did go there to celebrate the day.
Then Mum & Dad celebrated in 2002 .... this is them with their 4 bridesmaids. The 2 standing next to Mum are still alive, but the other 4 of the party aren't now.
Next year we are having a big party to celebrate Tim & Claire's 35th ... so there will be photos in March (you have been warned!!)
Right, I am sure you are bored by now ... so will catch up with you all in a moment.

Date: 2024-10-23 04:28 pm (UTC)Dear Jiffy. You're reminding me that I have tons of photos of Pippin (age 16), but only a few of us together.

Date: 2024-10-25 03:07 pm (UTC)I didn't have too many photos with Jiffy ... and the one I used here took ages to take, but wanted that memory, as I knew I was running out of time.
Get someone to take a photo of you & Pippin, a memory you will really treasure, both at the time ... and certainly in the future.

Date: 2024-10-24 09:26 am (UTC)I remember my grandparents Golden Wedding - I was 10 like you, and my older cousin and I made them a cake decorated in white royal icing with gold coins. Richard was working on a farm at the time and I wonder if he ever told his workmates what he spent the evening doing.
My dad died young so my parents only got to their silver one - but I think my sister and her husband may well make their 50th as they are coming up to 42 years.
