Yes, I am slowly getting there ... both yesterday and today I have managed a short walk (only about a mile each day), but am going with the positive seeing how last week just walking across my lounge seemed a long way ... and I don't live in a mansion!!!!

I will try and catch up with you all in a moment, but until then I will apologise for the deya.

I had aimed to pop in yesterday ... BUT ...

BEWARE OF TALK OF SUICIDE ...

Yesterday I started the day well, until I read my emails.  I had one from Nick, which in itself was a surprise.  However when I read it I will admit I couldn't believe the words.  Brenda's brother, who is the same age as me, had committed suicide the previous evening.

As ever there is unbelief that you read those words ... he and his wife had celebrated their 40th anniversary a couple of months ago, they had 3 kids who were all happily married, and one grandchild they were raising as their eldest girl was killed in a car accicent when he was a baby.

Words can't begin to register the shock ... even now I can't get my head around it.

Luckily his wife wasn't the person who found him ... but I think that's about the only positive I can find for her and the family.

I spoke to Brenda yesterday afternoon, and she is "ok", although said that poor Al had gone into shock.

How do you begin to get your head round this?  And I am only loosly linked.

ALL FINISHED

I am hoping to get some artwork done today, as don't have work.

The bank balance is not happy, but at least I have the time to fully rest and relax ... and recover.

So, before I post this ....

3. On National Poetry Day do you have a favourite poet or poem (link if you want to)?
Don't have a favourite ... but I tend to like some of the silly poems.
I prefer ones that don't need explaining ... maybe that's why some of the war poetry works for me ... or something silly like -
Little girls should love their brothers
But I so good have grown
That I love other people's brothers
Better than my own!!

4. Do you have any lights in your house that are on a timer so they come on automatically?
No ... if I had lights on a lot that would be wrong, as i tend to like dimmed rooms anyway!

Right, lets try and get on ... answer some replies, and catch up with you if I can x

What utterly shocking news for that family and his friends. What can one even say?

It's encouraging to hear that you're feeling better.

Wow - what an awful shock. I just shows that you just don't know how someone feels sometimes...

Oh, how very sad. I can't blame you for struggling to get your head around something like that.

I like Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven and Annabel Lee.

It's so awful when that happens — the families become major victims of the suicide as well. Someone I know was so shocked, they went into a 20 year lockdown in which they completely hid from themselves, all memories of the person who had died. My sympathies to all involved.
