10 Icons ... Plus A Bit Of A Scribble
Tuesday, October 31st, 2023 02:54 pmThis set of icons is made for Round 27 of
gen10in30 ... with the theme of holidays.
As today is Hallowean then I wanted to post them today ... but there are also 3 from Guy Fawlkes Night (for those who aren't English that doesn't mean much!)
As ever, all are snaggable, but credit would be appreciated. As ever, the photographs are all ones that I have taken in the last couple of years. The credits are available over at my icon journal -

I have just looked and Guy Fawlkes Night is Sunday ... so I won't be posting, but for those who don't know about him, read Wikepedia, here. Most of us know the first couple of lines of a poem, and I will admit I hadn't realised it was by John Milton -
I only could quote the first 2 lines easily, and the next 3 when I concentrate.
For many people Guy Fawlkes is remembered as either the only person who went to Parliament for a good reason, and for others he was the only sane person who went to Parliament. Yes, those of us who are cynical about politics remember that he tried blowing up everyone.
I grew up know a lot about him, and the story, as a couple of the other conspirators lived in Northamptonshire which is the county Mum grew up in, (and we used to visit a lot), for example the son of the gentleman who built the amazing Triangular Lodge
So, that's me up to date with icons ... however, as the month starts again tomorrow I dare say there will be another challenge to do.
Work was good this morning, although the account problems still exist. It was nice though as I didn't have anyone other than the physiologist I have worked with for 8+ years ... so although busy, it was a nice time.
Now I need to get on, so ...
31 – Magic Day: Have you ever seen magic performed live? Have you ever tried to learn a few tricks yourself?
No, and no
Right, will try and catch up soon x

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t’was his intent
To blow up the King and Parli’ment.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England’s overthrow;
By God’s providence he was catch’d
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holla boys, Holla boys, let the bells ring.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!
And what should we do with him? Burn him!
