And, It's The Weekend

debris4spikeHad a great time with Tim & Claire yesterday evening. We have always got on so well, and it's fun to spend time together.
This morning I walked to the supermarket a couple of miles away, did some shopping (and wow, was it busy today ... seeing as I am often there at the same time, don't know what was special about today). As ever, I caught the bus back, and have had dinner.
Just had a text from T&C to say that Claire has completed her 60 mile run for Cancer Research. I am so proud of her for doing it. It was 9 1/2 years ago that she had her mastectomy, and felt she wanted to do something before her 10 year anniversary. Well Done Claire.
I have managed to get a few bit's done, as well. Such as ordering holiday money for 10 days time, getting my prescription ordered etc ... things that are essential, and actually always seem to take longer than you expect.
Now I am going to have a fairly lazy afternoon, although I still have to do some of my holiday journal from Belfast., but before that

1 – International Day of Older Persons: David Bowie once said that ageing is an extraordinary process whereby you become the person you always should have been. Do you agree?
Hard to say. We all learn every day, just wish I could remember all those years of “lessons”.
In some ways I don’t mind aging, although I could do without the muscle aches & pains.

Date: 2023-10-03 03:18 am (UTC)I cannot stand podcasts. And as far as Bowie's statement goes, I SORT of semi agree with it. I think aging is more about the body though and physical things. Experience and learning to be a better person doesn't strike me as ageing as those things create wisdom. And you don't have to be old or falling apart to have it.
