What Lovely Weather Today

What a busy morning - had a lovely walk in the sunshine this morning, and then got organised as I am having Tim & Claire over for dinner tonight.  We are having a pork casserole, and I have made some jam tarts, but also bought a roulade ( yes, I cheated ... but why not?)

I can't believe it has been 8 years since Mum was called Home. It was lovely to see some Autumn colour near where she is resting this morning.  The cemetery is a beautiful location, and even if you don't know anyone resting here, it is a lovely place for a walk.  During lockdown it was always busy!











Right, so I had better get my kitchen floor cleaned.  I love cooking but am not the tidiest chef alive. My cookery teacher at school always said that my area looked like a bomb site! And especially with flour, which I needed, it get's everywhere!

29 – Ask A Stupid Question Day: There's no such thing as a stupid question except for the one you choose not to ask. When you were in school, did you hesitate to ask questions because you were afraid they were stupid questions? Did you make fun of other students who asked questions that struck you as stupid? As an adult, do you still hesitate to ask questions you think are stupid? Do you find yourself secretly hoping someone else will ask the question so you won't have to?
Actually I always hoped they would get asked, as I wasn’t brave enough to ask questions in class.

Actually to me, there ARE a lot of stupid questions that people ask ME personally, and it's irritating. Even as a kid I did tell people, that's a stupid question, and I don't feel bad about it at all. Of if I mention something and they ask me a question that I already just answered by telling them. And if I
personally feel like I'm about to ask a question someone might think is stupid, I will tell them.." This may seem kind of dumb, but..." and then ask. Beautiful flowers. I love them. Eight years? Wow. I am blessed my mom is still here, and one day, yes, she will join my dad.

Yes, I suppose that when I am on the main enquiry desk at work I do get asked a lot of silly, and random questions ... I just think it's the "joy of working with the general public"!

I will admit we couldn't believe it is 8/7 years since we said goodbye. I do miss them, but am also so thankful that I was actually in my 50's at the time. I work with someone who lost both her parents as a teenager.

It has nothing to do with the public for me that's for sure. And the questions I get are often racial in nature which really makes me tell people they're stupid. Such as " Oh, didn't anyone ever tell you you look like Connie Chung?" Or " What are you?" Shit like that. Almost every day I get mistaken for someone else here in town and I don't look like ANY Asian woman around here. I look like myself.

It really doesn't feel like almost eight years.

Yes, it's scary where the years go.

Yes, still a few flowers around, but I suppose that own't be for long now.
