... yes, the optician assured me that the blindness in my eye was no worse this year.  And, although my prescription has worsened a bit, it's not bad enough to need to buy new glasses.  So, all in all a good appointment.  The 20 minute appt last over an hour, though, so ended up catching the bus home.  They have a new scanner thingy for retinas now ... I have had the retinas photographed yearly for about 15 years now, but this is new.  I actually got to see a complete cross section of the layers, which was fascinating.

Clinic was good again today - although we had one patient that was totally deaf ... even yelling in his ear he found it hard to hear.  So, everyone knew what was happening to him at all times ... fine for other members of staff, but not nice for other pateints, although they all seemed very relaxed about it (in fact most of them laughed at watching me struggle!)

Now the afternoon is here again, and I have baking to do.  But, before I head off to do housework and baking ....

28. Did (or does) your family take seasonal vacations?
I presume this means Easter/Christmas. If so, then the answer is no, although we always did, and still do try to catch up with each other for those dates.

Right, that's me up to date again

I found that cross-section of the retina really fascinating too when I had my last eye test.

Good news about the eyes. I am fascinated by the new equipment, too.

I sympathise with you over the deaf patient - our urodynamics rooms (both in the uro-gynae clinic and the men's health one) were pretty soundproof, but, yes, if the patient was stone deaf the sound drifted out!
