1/3 Down ...

... yes, today is a Bank Holiday and I have packed 1/3 of the decorations away (so this will be the last time until December I can use this icon!), and then had a 1/2 hour walk, now I am going to do some "computer" stuff ... before lunch.

In other words, I am trying to be a good girl and split up my day so that a lot is accomplished but my brain & body survive the experience ... so we shall see how well that works.

I know I am a bit behind again with comments, but will try and catch up this evening ... if not, it will be tomorrow when I log on.

I have "Snowflakes" to do on DW, which will transfer over here automatically, so you will see what i am up to over there, as well ... but before I head there -



3. January 3 is Fruitcake Toss Day. Do you like fruitcake? Why does it get such a bad rap?
That must be an American Day, as I don't know it
However I have a recipe that Mum used to make that is a "boiled fruit cake" which I love - but the heavy fruit cakes of weddings/Christmas ... no, it's too "bitter" for me.

The decs are all down, and so are the cards ... just have to store them away, but that's a job for tomorrow.

I must say a boiled fruit cake — or even a bread pudding type cake is very good — yum!

Ironically a Bread Pudding is a real no-go for me ... Growing up in Essex it was served everywhere and I am not a fan. Mum's recipe ends up with a "normal" dry cake
