A Christmas Outing

Yesterday, Christine came up to Exeter and we went to Killerton ... my local National trust property.  Only the ground floor was open, but it was decorated for Christmas ... and they did a great job.  Killerton has been controversial this year by doing a garden display that is costing £20 per person, including members ... and it has not been a popular decision.  So w had to be out of the gardens by 3.30 to make sure we didn't see the route after dark.  However we walked round in daylight, and then just before we left they had started putting the lights on, so we re-walked the route.  Yes, it did look nice, but certainly not worth a £20 each ticket ... but overall, the camera was very busy!

And so that's why I didn't pop in yesterday ... now I am here to do this, and then dissappear until Monday ... as ever ...

Mum ... you could sometimes change Dad's mind, but they did back each other up, so you couldn't match one to the other

The house does look lovely. But, like you, I think £20 to walk through the grounds, even festively decorated and lit, is more than I would be willing to pay.

Yes, those grounds were certainly not worth £20 ... I do wonder how many people actually paid the money. Judging from the local news I would imagine they were going to run at a huge loss.
