My Aunt Is Worried About Me!!!!

Before I type any more I must add that this is my Aunt who was Mum's best friend ... neither of my actual relations are/were ever bothered about me!

Anyway, I spoke to Auntie Mary yesterday.  She is 90 but I always end up laughing my way through the call, and she always cheers me up.

Any way, as to her concern ... she thinks I am seriously ill (even worse than in January), as she asked me my plans and I said I had cleaned the car that morning, and was planning to sort out, and clean, my shed today (which I have done).  So, she knows I am not great with housework, unlike Mum, and now she is worried that I am really ill!!!

Anyway, tasks done, although I will admit my lounge could do with dusting - maybe I will do that tomorrow before I head off to Eric's funeral.

On an annoying note - in England garden centres are open, so I drove out this morning to get petrol, and to visit the garden centre.  I was going to be a "good girl" and get a grow bag and 3 tomato plants.  So, I went, only to find that it had moved to the other side of the city!!!  So decided that I shall pick them up tomorrow on my way home instead.

And, I am missing a couple of days meme - so

At present I am sneezing, and sneezing. My shed was very, very dusty

25 What two colors do you think look best together?
LOL - I am colourblind, so I see colours in my own way. And often what I think is a colour, isn't. I did paint my study wall recently, purple ... while the other 3 are orange. I think it looks good, but have yet to ask anyone else.

26 Popcorn or pretzels?

It's so good to have people who care for you. Do your siblings stay in touch with you?

Sadly my brother Nick is 101% withdrawn (even from his wife) most of the time. Just after Mum died he emailed me to say he wanted nothing more to do with me .... but wouldn't say why. My reply email even bounced. Then about 3 months later the birthday card was signed by him. Brenda had kept in touch all the way through and din't know what it was all about. I asked Tim to find out for me but he said he didn't want to get involved!

Tim withdrew quite a lot, again when Mum died, and Claire supported him. So although they live about a mile away I tend to only see them at Christmas and in June for his & my birthdays ... then usually for a meal out somewhere. In the last 6 - 9 months they have kept in touch more. And about every couple of weeks they walk my way and speak (socially distant) for 5 minutes. I think with them there is a lot of guilt as they didn't keep in touch with M&D much, andd I used to occasionally text them to remind them

Sadly Mum & Dad were very set in their ways, and strict in many things, which never bothered me at all, but neither brother could accept. So rather than ignoring the differences they ignored Mum, Dad, and by extension me.

Yes it has hurt - and still does, but I have learnt to accept that they aren't going to change. The icon is a favourite photo of them taken when they were late teens ... I suppose, that is what I still miss.

Oh, sorry OI seem to have rambled on ... but that's the "short" answer. Thanks for asking, though.

I'm sorry your brothers have withdrawn from you; I'm sure that hurts. I'm pretty close to my family though we actually don't see each other all that often. Even before shelter at home, I didn't see my mom or sister every day. When Irish and I first moved to this town, my mom and both my sisters all lived here - and every one of them moved away within a couple of years! My youngest sister moved to Georgia to be near her daughter and my mom, then my middle sister moved to the neighboring town about 8 miles away. Then when my youngest nephew was born, mom moved to Georgia. She moved back this year and is now in the same town as my middle sister. My family's never been the sort that talks every day which I guess is a little weird because we definitely love each other and love getting together. So we're close but we're weird about it. LOL (My dad passed away in September 2007.)

Poor Auntie Mary!! She is one very special lady.

Yes, it's weird how trips to normal places get exciting. I was excited to put on heals and good jewellery for Eric's funeral ( a very sad state of affairs)

It's sweet of her to worry, if needlessly. None of my family even call. You are lucky to have relatives that care.

She is the only one who really keeps in touch. My Dad's sister moans if I don't ring (but as Dad used to say to us, phone lines go both ways!!, as she used to do the same to him)

One of my sisters-in-law and I speak at least once a week, so that's great
