What mood were you in today?

Pretty good.

• I heard back from Annemarie, and it looks as if plans can be made for my USA trip.


• I went to the gym, and although wasn't there long had a good time.


• Jiffy had a good walk this morning ... this week has been tough as two vet visits (he likes them, but sad they had to happen).. An ear infection, then a cut paw. But today he was doing well

Thanks - looking forward to the trip.

Will sort out my camera this weekend, and make sure I get a Jiffy photo! He is getting better from his ear infection, and this morning had a good run and jump, so his paw seems 100%

I'm in St. Louis, Missouri, have a guest bedroom and bathroom, and lots of friends arrive. B&B and chauffeur/tour guide service provided. There's lots to do here, and the red carpet would roll out. I'm a retired teacher, and my husband's a university prof. Give it a think.

Thank you - I would love to. Haven't finalized dates with my friends, but am looking at mid, or slightly later, July, if that's any good.

I love seeing places ... but meeting someone who has been so supportive would be lovely.

I am serious. You'd be more than welcome. Just one thing, though. I have a yearly reunion with school friends in Spokane, Washington the third week of July. I go earlier, about the 9th, and spend a week with a friend in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and return on Monday, July 24th. Any time thereafter would work. I hope this works out.

Thanks so much, but looks like those dates just won't work out for the other trips, so will head to Boston and have a history-feast there instead.

Ironically the friend I am flying to see in Portland actually lives in Coeur d'Alene!!! She didn't want to host me, so I am meeting her at her father & step-mother's, who I do know, so not as bad as it sounds!!

Anyway, I will be back to the USA in a couple of years, so will aim to visit then, please.

Sorry about this summer, but I'll be delighted in a few years when it does work out My friend in Couer d'Alene goes back to age 11 in grammar school. Her husband has Alzheimer's, so I go about 10 days before our high school friends all gather and spend it in her home on the lake. Her life is increasingly difficult as her husband fails physically and mentally and becomes more and more unpleasant and aggressive. She needs adult conversation, and we get things done around her home. Portland, however, is a wonderful city. Be sure to take a trip down the gorgeous Oregon coast. The Canon Beach area is lovely.
