Last week with the Black Friday thingy Amazon tried getting me to buy a new Kindle and will admit I was tempted, but no money.  So didn't.

And, guess what I have forgotten to back up!

Yes, you guessed....

My Kindle died last night!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Just hunted my cloud, and found that I had my Kindle plugged in long enough that it has uploaded, so may have lost a bit, but not as much as I dreaded

I'm glad you got some of your kindle content back.

And while I think of it, would you be interested in having the audiobook of James reading Ghost Story and also the three 'Dresden & Bigfoot' stories? Don't know if you already have them or not?

That's OK - yes, you did reply in your card and I haven't forgotten, just not had time to get them copied yet, despite having a lovely long break from work. You will get them though :)

I'm looking forward to the new book, and looking forward to re-reading the last one as well in readiness.

Oh dear! They don't give any warning when they do that either do they! Glad you've got a back up and at least you can still read on the Kindle app on your PC.

*nods* Several times I'd thought my e-reader died but having it plugged in it came back. *fingers crossed*

I have a Sony and what I meant with plug in was plug in to my computer. So I noticed when it's low on battery it's more acting out than with a full battery.

Eh... and no, I don't back it up regularly. Because I have the books to load with USB and my PC, they are on my PC. And that is backed up. But not my Sony... ah well.

I do upload new books to my DropBox, but not the old ones I haven't read yet. So the new ones I could get back via DropBox.
