debris4spike: (Happy Birthday)
[personal profile] debris4spike
As well as missing [livejournal.com profile] petzipellepingo birthday, and then [livejournal.com profile] deborahw37 yesterday, I am also a day late in posting this.

It must be hard to spend your birthday in hospital, but even more so when things are generally confused.  Poor Daddy.  As well as those of us in the photos, a couple of couples from Church popped in.  So by the evening he was pretty tired and stressed, but overall the rest of us have good memories.

Yes, Jiffy was invited by the staff.

In my "spare" time when not sorting out the house (of which I now have the whole lot to do) I am trying to find the right place for dad to live.  As I said in my last posting Dad actually spared me the decision, but sadly he now tends to think it will happen "now" .... but I haven't even seen one place, let alone made a decision ... and the hospital still have a lot of paperwork to do.

So my MIA continues ... hope all is well with you all.  Miss you.

Those are lovely photos. Good, too, that he clearly remembers the discussion about going into a care home rather than back to the bungalow.

Best of luck with your search for the right one. This is the sort of time when church connections come in useful for recommendations.

Congratulations to your Dad!
I admire you for your (seemingly) neverending strength and your dedication for your family.
Working in a carehome myself, I see all different kinds of families...not everyone cares about their parents that much. Which is so sad to see.
I know, life with demented parents can be challenging, but you get so much back from them, too. Seeing your Dad surrounded by his family and of course Jiffy, makes me very happy. The best presents you can give him.
Tons of hugs from me to you!

Happy birthday to your dad - he looks well and happy in those photos, and that's such a beautiful one of the two of you together. So nice that he could see Jiffy as well - do the hospital always allow him in or was it a special birthday visit?

Take care of yourself - try not to think of all the things you have to do as one big lump, break them down into small pieces and do them a little at a time. Good luck with the searching my dear.
