I must catch up at some point!

Just to say I am now on penicillin and saw my dentist today who re-x-rayed and said all was clear. He filled the hole with some vile anti-biotic gunge ... and I thought that if it tasted bad, it must do me lots of good. Either that or it was "THE Pellet of Poison"

So hopefully this will finally sort out all the aches and pains!!

I have to take Mum & Dad to the chiropodist now, so will catch up with comments when I get back.

Poor Jiffy - couldn't cope with the getting up early -

I hadn't ever seen that particular Bob Hope movie. One forgets that when young, Martha Raye was cute and had a great figure. She retained her gorgeous legs when older. The appearance of Andy Devine was fun, but then he makes the unfortunate racist remark at the end, which was all too common in those days. "Yea, verily, yea!"

No-no-no! Following the Danny Kaye scene in "The Court Jester", YouTube showed a clip of a Bob Hope movie with Martha Raye and Andy Devine that did the same tongue twister schtick but with a cross on the muzzle of the pistol, not a nick on the notch of the something else. I thought you had included it, but clearly not.

I'm pretty sure that the old Bob Hope, Martha Raye, Andy Devine movie is "Never Say Die." Bet you'd enjoy it, and it's likely available one way or another: inter-library loan, movie service, something. As I said, it has the same routine as "the pellet with the poison," but concerning dueling pistols. Well, since the Hope movie is far earlier, the Kaye movie is at take-off on the earlier film routine. The link you posted above is over 9 minutes long. The first portion is the Kaye movie. The second is the Hope movie! Click on your own link and watch through the Kaye portion to that with Hope.

I love the "Road" films. My dad went to school with Bing Crosby at Gonzaga Prep in Spokane, Washington, my home town. Crosby was 3 years younger than my dad, but when Crosby died (BIG SURPRISE!), he was about 6 or 7 years younger than my dad. The books have his age right now, but when he married his second wife, about 30 years younger, he shaved a few years off.

Nope! I'm 69 and proud of it. The picture on my Facebook page was taken on my 68th birthday. I've never understood the whole concept. Which years should I deny?

Yup! I finally attended a high school reunion for the first time this last summer. I walked into a room of folks I'd last seen when they were 18, and gadzooks, they were geezers and geezettes. That part was okay though. The problem was the in memorium list of those who couldn't be there. That made 68 seem just fine with a side order of dandy.
