That was my thought as well. You might want to ask your Mum if it's possible to take a cutting and root it or transplant the bush. It would be a shame to leave it behind when you move.
I'm not a keen gardener, but I couldn't leave that behimd! She has a rose in her garden that has travelled from her childhood home via 5 other locations ... and is still OK.
You live in a country famous for its gardeners, so you might be a decent gardener by non British standards. My next door neighbor in Durango was born in the U.K., but came to the U.S. as a child. She is definitely not a gardener. (She puts artificial flowers out in her yard.) Fortunately a previous owner of the house was an excellent gardener.
