TV Meme, snagged from sarian71  - In this I shall be listing my favourite new show, from this list for each year. For many it wasn't the year I saw them, but it is the year that they were released .... and, for me, I start back 1/2 a century ago in 1961!!!



1961 - The Avengers
1962 - Z Cars
1963 - Dr Who (and don't remind jaded_jamie but I started watching this in 1964!!)
1964 - Play School
1965 - I Dream of Jeannie
1966 - Star Trek (although I later went on to prefer the future series)
1967 - The High Chapparal
1968 - Dad's Army (and The Champions)
1969 - Scooby Doo Where Are You? (And notable mention for the Moon landings!)

1970 - The Goodies
1971 - Alias Smith & Jones (and Upstaires, Downstaires - the first costume drama I saw ... and still like it on the re-runs)
1972 - M*A*S*H
1973 - Last of the Summer Wine
1974 - Little House on the Prairie (and Six Million Dollar Man!)
1975 - Fawlty Towers
1976 - Duchess of Duke Street (and Wings - a close second)
1977 - SOAP
1978 - Blakes 7 (But Dallas and Grange Hill, have to be mentioned!)
1979 - Blankety Blank (proving that it was a poor year, that year!)

1980 - Children in Need - in other words another poor year fro new shows.
1981 - Tenko
1982 - Knight Rider
1983 - Blackadder
1984 - The Jewel in the Crown (Mini Series)
1985 - North & South (another mini series)
1986 - Bread
1987 - Star Trek, Next Generation
1988 - Red Dwarf
1989 - Quantom Leap

1990 - Keeping up Appearances
1991 - House of Elliot (another mini series)
1992 - .... Couldn't see a single new show that I watched and liked ....
1993 - Goodnight Sweetheart
1994 - Vicar of Dibley
1995 - Pride & Prejudice (Mini Series!)
1996 - ... Another "none" year ...
1997 - Buffy, the Vampire Slayer .... Of course, even if I didn't start watching it for many years! (And Stargate SG1)
1998 - Dawson's Creek (!!)
1999 - Farscape

2000 - ... Another "none" year ...
2001 - Smallville (even if some episodes were much better than others!)
2002 - Foyle's War
2003 - QI
2004 - Strictly Come Dancing
2005 - ... Another "none" year ...
2006 - Torchwood
2007 - Moonlight
2008 - Survivors ... and Being Human
2009 - Vampire Diaries ... and V

2010 - ... Another "none" year ...

That has brought back some fun memories ... a few really good years with lots of new shows that I love(d) ... and found it hard to pick the best ... then a few with nothing that I watched and liked.

Interesting meme. Might have to do this one if I get snowed in again. Like you, I watch a few of these in rerun here instead of in first run.

Oh no - still they tell us we are going to get colder here as the week progresses!

I tend to enjoy certain shows and can watch and re-watch!

At the moment, Vampire Diaries certainly has me gripped.

Bread! How did I manage to leave out Bread from my list?! I wish they would show reruns of it sometime.

Yes, there were a couple on there that brought back great memories ... and a wish to re-watch ... Alias smith & Jones was one ... I loved those 2 cowboys trying to be good!
