I've always loved ET, and it's been getting some rotation on the cable channels here. But I'm not ready to let my kids watch it. There's some salty language and it's a little scary in parts.

And I have to wonder if Speilberg had not yet had children when he made this movie. The mom sure leaves her kids alone a lot, even Gertie, and she's only supposed to be seven years old or something!

Rant: I really hate it when films that are supposed to be child or family-oriented include adult language and situation. No thank you!

That's one of the things I love about my friends - we have different likes and dislikes ... it makes life less boring.

Yes, I can't understand films, and even soaps, that don't put family-friendly messages across ... it doesn't make sense at all.

I saw it when it came out on Video but never really liked it, saw it a few years later with Aranka and still didn't like it. Aranka didn't like it either. She couldn't sit through the whole thing. *thankfull*
