For those who read my post last week about my Dad's sisters  ... Well today is the day of her masterctomy - So won't know anything really until tomorrow.

However I can update you on Kay, who was also in that post, for those who missed it.

I had a text message from Sylv that said :-

"Kays heart has a block between upper and lower chambers. So she will need a pacemaker.  She's feeding well, but cries when docs or nurses touch her."

I will admit I thought pacemakers were for those in their 60's ... not for someone who is only 8 months old.

I hope the pacemaker works well. I have a friend around my age who has one. So I guess they're just for anyone who needs one. :]

*hugs* Good luck for them!
A peacemaker can work well; the ones I know have to be replaced around 10 years (depending on the battery). But the new ones get always smaller.

My friend's son, or my daughter's friend, or my sister's nephew, whatever - anyway, Max had a pacemaker fitted just before Christmas. He is 20. He probably should have had it done earlier - so not just for old people! I'm sure it will help her to lead a normal life.

Keeping my fingers crossed for your aunt - I do hope things go well for her, it's not a nice op to have done.

I'm glad to hear that little Kay got through her op ok, it's a shame that she still has a problem with her heart, hopefully the pacemaker will do the trick and give her a chance to grow and gain some strength.

I have missed a lot of my flists posts over the last couple of days as things have been a bit manic here, but I did catch that you'd had trouble breathing and that the docs couldn't find anything wrong - that's good in one way but I guess a bit worrying in another as it's obviously something causing the shortness of breath, I hope it sorts itself out though *hugs*

With any luck the hospital may be able to do something for Kay when she's older to improve things, medical technology is improving all the time so what can't be done now may be able to be done in a few years.

Hugs to your aunt - she's a very brave woman :)

You never know they might *g*

I'm sure that the doctors will do the best for Kay and I know Pacemakers are used for all age patients. Prayers for her health.
