At 83 he has had his hernia done this morning - and I collected him at 3pm ... The doctor did wonder if he would need to stay in due to his age - but he is OK, has had tea and as I type this is chatting to a neighbour who has popped in.
So we don't have to worry about re-directing Father Christmas to the hospital when he visits this evening!
