1. What’s the first thing you think of when you consider the year ahead?
Just that I hope it will be a good one, for myself - but especially for all those I love.

2. What’s the weather like today (warmer or cooler than average)?
At the beginning of the year it was slightly warmer than I was expecting (I remember I couldn't wear my big fluffy jumper!)

3. There is a Wolf Moon tonight - it will be the fourth supermoon in a row. Have you seen a supermoon before?
Not that I know

4. Do you have any travel plans arranged for this year?
Only my postponed trip to China. Would like to get something else planned as well, but that will depend on my leg injury.

5. Are you looking forward to any TV shows this year?
Only the regular one - Pottery Throwdown (started already), Bake-Off, Sewing Bee etc

6. In 1709 The Great Frost began during the night, a sudden cold snap that remains Europe's coldest ever winter. What temperature will it reach today where you live?
Today (the 27th - between 9 & 3'C)

I have tried a few times. Both Mum & Dad could play, as can my brother Nick. My nepher Andrew has Dad's piano now & plays ... a 3rd generation

8. Do you look back on your school days with fondness? What was your favourite subject to learn?
Yes for the education ... no because of the bullying!
Favourite subjects were Maths and science.

9. What time do you usually get up and go to bed each day?
Like to switch the light off at about 11pm ... but unless I have plans I get up when I wake. My body will tell me what time I need to surface!

10. Are you impulsive, or do you take time to make decisions?
Tend to be impulsive over most things

Haven't a clue - I don't even buy raffle tickets

Lidl is my local and they have a loyalty app ... after £10 a month you get a free cake/bun, after£50 in a month a free portion of vegetables ... you can pick what you want. Every shop they give you a random 10% discount on an item for use during the following week. As well as 5 items every Thursday that have 15% off.

13. January is the best time to see the bright gas giant planet Jupiter in the sky – have you ever seen it?
Not that I know

14. Mark Antony was born today in Rome in 83BCE. Have you ever seen “Cleopatra” starring Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra and Richard Burton as Mark Antony?
I saw the film when I was a teenager, and even then was amazed by the production

15. If you could, would you like to be a little bit taller or a little bit shorter?
I am fine as I am

16. Do you have a favourite genre of music?
1960's, big band, or some classical

No

18. It’s Sunday – what was the best part of last week?
Nothing major ... just lots of small things made me smile

19. What colour scheme is your bedroom?
Cream & pale green (I think ... being colourblind, that's hard to know)

20. Have you read any of the Winnie the Pooh books?
As a kid - Mum read them to us when we were very young.
I do love the 2 books of poetry though - and look at them often "When we were very young" and "Now we are 6"

21. Do you like wearing colourful socks? What do the brightest socks you own look like?
Love, love, love

Hate it - but love doing it, as it means I am travelling!

No, but it was one of Dad's favourite books

24. Have you ever knitted a garment or had one knitted for you?
I am wearing a jumper that I knitted myself! I like knitting but am slow as it comes and goes.
Mum made me clothes up until the last few years of her life.
My aunt, who made me clothes when I was a kid, still knits baby clothes, at the age of 96.

25. It’s Burn’s Night – a night to celebrate Robert Burns and all things Scottish. Do you like Scotch whisky or do you prefer Irish Whiskey?
Not a great whisky/whiskey fan anyway ... so don't know the difference.

26. It’s Australia Day! What do you think of when you think of Australia?
Have never really thought about it much ... have a friend who lives there.
I would actually like to be at a sun-rise service for ANZAC Day
