It would have been Dad's 100th birthday, so in a short while I am walking to Tim & Claire's and then we are walking into the city to have a meal out.  He used to like going out for a nice meal occasionally, so it seems fitting that we celebrate in such a way.

So, just thought I would share some photos of him again -

I love this one, although you can see that Mum wasn't all that well - but lovely to see that after over 60years of marriage they are holding hands.

he was one really special person, and I still miss him, but know I will see him again in eternity.

And, seeing as it's dad's birthday I also need to wish [livejournal.com profile] deborahw37 a happy birthday, as well.  I know she has had a tough year, but I do hope that she has a lovely day today.

Work went OK this morning - really enjoyed being back in the clinic over the last couple of days.

So before I head out -

27. Are there songs that remind you of times in your life? Care to share the title of one and why?
I will admit sometimes hearing a song on the radio immediately takes me to a time & place.
One sone that really resonated at the time was "If tomorrow never comes" by Ronan Keating ... it was released a few months before I lost Jaykub. It now brings Mum & Dad to mind.
Sometimes late at night
I lie awake and watch her sleeping
She's lost in peaceful dreams
So I turn out the lights and lay there in the dark
And the thought crosses my mind
If I never wake in the morning
Would she ever doubt the way I feel
About her in my heart

If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face this world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes

'Cause I've lost love ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret
That my true feelings for them never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance
Where there's no second chance to tell her how I feel

If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face this world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes

So tell that someone that you love
Just what you're thinking of
If tomorrow never comes

Right ... I am going to have a lazy time, and look at some photos - will catch up with you tomorrow x

Thank you for sharing Dad with us. My dad was recently delighted to get his driver license renewed for four years -- when he'll be 100 years old. Who knows, maybe he'll still be with us and still be driving!
