That Was A Long Morning

I had a routine blood test booked, so went to my doctors and after 1/2 hour waiting I spoke to the receptionsist and she said that the time had been changed (yesterday) by a couple of hours.  No one had told me, and why did she book me in that "early".  So I returned 2 hours later ... and, guess what, the receptionist forget to click "here", so after another 1/2 hour I spoke to her ... and was seen.

So annoying.  Yes, I had my Kindle with me,  ut I also was wanting to watch the D-Day programme that was on.  So I missed a chunk of that!

Watching what I did manage to see reminded me of the stories Mum & Dad told me of June 1944 ... and the fact I knew someone who had actually landed on D-Day, as well as someone who landed D-Day + 4.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary, nor the years cndemn
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
We will remember them.

When you go home, tell them of us that
For your tomorrow, we gave our today.

Still I got the washing in, and ironing done ... I had hung it out yesterday and it ended up raining.  I have also done some cleaning, so a positive day, so far.

I am here for a short time before heading into work for this evening.  And before I post this -

5. Do you still buy a real, printed newspaper?
No - although usually Christmas/Easter I buy one for both the TV magazine, and the crossword inserts. But don't always remember to get organised.

Right, lets get this posted.

That's a loooong day. I recently had an afternoon doctor appointment and after waiting an hour in the waiting room, I went up to the front desk to find out what was going on. The lady told me, "You're next in line to be taken back to the room... but I can't tell you how long you'll have to wait there." I rescheduled for a *morning* appointment and was in and out in half an hour. Whew!

My dad still gets the newspaper delivered to his front door every morning. He loves it.

No. Never read the newspaper or got it by subscription but my parents did all their lives.
