... I had aimed to meet up with a friend from work for a walk, and got out of the city, only to be stopped by stationary traffic. There had been an accident and everything ground to a halt. We had almost cancelled anyway, so maybe the walk today was definitely "off".

So I eventually cut across the stuck traffic to pick up a different road - but one that led me back home.

Still I did spot my neighbour's tree, which was a nice bright spot of colour on such a grey day -

Still it means I can edit a few more photos, before lunch and then work this afternoon.

Yesterday's shift went OK, and although I couldn't remember how to set up my switchboard connection I did remember much of the basics. Sadly as I was working into the evening I had to leearn a few more basic rules ... although as I am doing the same hours today and Friday, hopefully I will have learnt those details, as well.

On Thursday I have the final training for my job transfer (and if I have to go over basic stuff again, I will not be happy). It's a whole day event, so I won't be here till Friday ... so ...

13. In 1998, Thailand declared the 13th National Elephant Day - a day dedicated to the conservation of its elephants. Do you own anything made of elephant ivory? Would you feel uncomfortable owning an ivory item?
I do have some ivory ornaments that had belonged to my grandmother ... yes, I do feel bad, but when I see them I do thank God for both elephants, and that the trade has been banned ... so it's a chance to remember family, as well as a beautiful animal.

No I haven't ever entered a contest like that.

Right, hope to see you Friday ... although I have an appointment at a jewellers in the next town to get my grandmother's necklace appraised, as the chain needs repair. So it will depend on how long that lasts as to whether you see me, but hopefully you will, if even briefly.
