Montacute is a village, and the house that we went to is on the edge of it ... the centre part of the village is made of the original style stone ....







... The Baptist Church



The Church of St Catherine was started in Norman times, so a long history ... and beauty to match

What a nice looking village - and what a wonderful church interior. (Our island never seems to have had anyone rich enough for fancy memorials and carved effigies!)

That Church is amazing .. the effigies are of family members of those who built Montacute House (He was a Judge at Sir Walter Raleigh's trial ... so, money was there at that point.
