Another Lovely day Out Yesterday

Yes, it was lovely yesterday, spending the day with a friend as an early birthday present for her.

We had planned to go to one particular NT property, but as you can see by "the" yesterday photo this was the road we needed ... and just after I took this I watched a car almost drown itself, so we turned around and went to another property (photos soon)


Somehow I forgot to take a photo on Sunday (ooops!)

This morning I walked up to collect a parcel, only to find it hadn't arrived, even though I had the email yesterday to say it had ... oh well, I will get another walk this afternoon then. I had planned to get out to collect my holiday money anyway so it will be a longer walk.

Today is the beginning of Real Bread Week - have you ever made your own bread?
I have a bread-maker and love traditional bread.
When I was a teen Dad used to make the family bread every Saturday afternoon, so it also brings back memories when I smell fresh bread.

i am HORRIBLE at making bread and find it more alchemy than cooking, which is frustrating -- it's like i feel i SHOULD know how to do it if I just listen to my intuition, but that rarely works. >.< i do make a mean loaf of foccacia, which has bumped my confidence. That's been nice. :)

Dad's bread always turned out beautifully (without a machine) ... Mum made bread on the machine, which was lovely.

Even though I use a machine, every so often it isn't great!

Oh dear, yes - that road looks a bit too much like a river for comfort!

Nope but I had a friend who made the best bread and he would brush egg whites on top of the crust to make it crispy and shiny.
