As it was November, and you saw yesterday, some of my visiting was done after dark. I don't "do" late nights .... but still saw some of London after dark. Here are a few photos of Covent Garden (the first 5 photos), Leicester Square ... and other "local" places that were lit up for Christmas -

London has some good lights doesn't it? Lovely!

I adore the National Portrait Gallery, but everyone is always very confused that it doesn't open until 10.30 now. I'm sure it used to be 10am!

Oh my favourites are those down Regent St ... they are lovely.

I only went to the portrait Gallery in the afternoon, so didn't look at opening time! I will admit i was surprised at how long the queue for the National gallery was as i walked round the corner ... and, no queue

It's all pretty but I hate the commercialism and materialism of what's supposed to be Christ's day. As a kid of course I benefited from the presents and decorations LOL but these days and the past years I just look at it as any other holiday and I just avoid the crowds.

Yes, I love seeing the lights, but hate seeing the commercialism on the shops and TV adverts.

I do decorate my house, but although I exchange pressies with a few people they are only "small" and more to show love & friendship, rather than what our bank balances are like.

Beautiful pictures. I love the lights strung out for Christmas but they are sadly missing from where I live. Thank you for sharing.

I love London lights ... I am going into Exeter soon and shall be interested to see whether they have decorated here at all.
