Actually Being A Good Girl ... So Far!!!!!!!!!!
Thursday, October 26th, 2023 11:01 amWow, I have cleaned my bathroom, and scrubbed my kitchen (& bathroom) bins. Want to do some more cleaning in the kitchen later, but am doing it in parts, otherwise I get fed up and abandon the work.
I have got the bread maker on ... caught up with many of you on LJ. Now I want to get some more photos sorted ... I am on my last day, which took me to a WWII battlefield area.
I also have some more icons to finish, and then post before the month disappears. Yesterday I posted a set over on DW ... as they were all from Blake's 7 (which many of you won't even know) ... but here are 3 teasers (and the set of 20 are here )
So, let's get on , and ....
26 – Mincemeat Day: Have you ever tried mincemeat (pie, or tarts)? Do you like it? Do you have an old family mincemeat recipe that gets dragged out in time for the holidays season?
I adore mince pies … and eat them throughout Dec & Jan. I used pre-prepaired mincemeat. Mum would always make mince pies, but we only ever had enough for the 12 days of Christmas.
Right, hope to get some photos soon x

Date: 2023-10-27 03:20 pm (UTC)Back in the day, when my grandad was still alive (pre 1990!) I used to make my own mincemeat from a really old recipe that actually included minced low fat beef. It was lush, but you had to make it well in advance and as time has gone by, I just can't be bothered with it all. The pies were then made with made from scratch orange pastry and with a dollop of cream cheese inside. My grandad loved them, and after he died I lost heart. Any pies I make now are with ready rolled pastry, and bought mincemeat... or sometimes, with a sponge top.
