On the first day I was in Belfast I used the "Hop On Hop Off" bus, and got off at The Botanic Gardens ... lovely.  On the edge of the gardens was the Ulster Museum.  I will admit it wasn't a great lay-out (from my point of view) as I seemed to see a few things more than once, and missed other things completely ... oh well, here's a taster -

Yes, that's a group of them, as if they were hanging out for a meet and greet type of club LOL. I only have seen singular ones.

I am sure they had tentacles like nautiluses for a lot of cups of coffee LOL.

I once saw a fake fossil though at one of those touristy shops at Pier 39, this touristy LOL place in San Fransisco. It said " Ten thousand years old". Well um, they died out LONNNNNG before that :P. And it looked fake.

These photos are fantastic. I shall live vicariously through your travels. My folks and I did most of our travels before I turned 21. I am grateful considering how it was so much easier back then.

You must have read my mind because I just mentioned in my PM to you that LJ is a great community for sharing the travels...and from other people's adventures too. Yes, my parents and I every summer would take a nice 'big trip' called it, to Canada or Europe, Mexico or faraway states like NY and Washington DC, Florida and Hawaii. I loved it We would hit all the sights.

At home, though, we would also go on weekends for short day or overnight trips to places as well. One of my favorite memories is our trips to San Fransisco, which I never tired of. We had our favorite restaurants. And both my parents love art museums and natural history museums. San Fransisco was great for those! To this day also, I love to visit aquariums and zoos.

I have a degree in history so I also love the history of the places I visit. I mean what's the point of being there and not at least knowing more about it than just the shops and such.

Williamsburg is awesome...a great historical place. I had actually been accepted to the College of William and Mary over there but ended up staying local. Mom and Dad and I visited NYC and Washington DC three times because well, there was just so much to see. San Fransisco though of course is a big favorite as I lived less than an hour away.
