Having been told I was working all week, except for when I went to Nick's, it turned out that Claire had asked Mel & myself to work. As we do slightly different hours, as was 2 1/2 hours into work, and Mel arrived. As she has no transport, and I am staff bank, I went home. Rather than just get on with ironing etc that I needed, I decided to go to my local National Trust house to see how they had decorated it for Christmas. Will try & post some photos tomorrow.

I did have a good time at Nick & Brenda's although there was only one of the boys around. Nick wasn't doing too well health wise, so only at meals were the boys around ... in the afternoon it was just Brenda and myself. So although very low-key, it was lovely.

Work was a suprise on Wednesday ... there are sometimes volunteers around to help push wheelchaires etc, and one of them collapsed during his shift. He had a minor heart attack ... fortunately he was in A&E soon-ish, and had treatment yesterday ... so in the end it was good news. He, like me, live alone, so something like that is more worrying as there is no-one around to help at times of emergency.

Now I have been to work, and to Killerton and the shops on the way home. So I have a bulk meat thingy cooking ... and need to get that sorted in a moment, but before I go downstairs -

28. What decision have you been putting off?
Nothing, I can think of.

29. Most Valuable Player (MVP): an accolade or award, originally used in team sports to recognize one player for game-changing excellence, and also used outside of sports to recognize excellence in the contributions of an individual to a group effort. Does anyone stand out as your own personal MVP, either at work or in your personal life, for this year?
Mel, who I work with on reception desk ... she is always so positive, and really helped me feel positive about my job there.

30. As the year comes to a close, what’s something you’d like to put behind you?
My ill-health, although to be honest I am doing so much better than I wa, maybe I should just say "the madness of politics" ... it is such a pity that all politicians seem to spend more time arguing with each other to really focus on proper long-term answers.

Right, see you later x

I think you shouldn't underestimate how much better your health is these days. The shift work would have floored you not so long ago! I think that's worth celebrating.

Sorry to hear about your brother though I'm glad you enjoyed your Christmas.
