Boxing Day
Monday, December 26th, 2022 03:15 pmHope that you all had a good Christmas Day.
Mine was lovely ... church was packed in the morning as there was only one service, rather than the normal 2. It was great to celebrate the real reason for Christmas. I had planned to go to Mum & Dad's graves on the way home. but as it was raining and the local gate was closed, I didn't stop. However that worked in my favour, as I had just switched the kettle on when my doorbell rang ... Tim & Claire dropping in to wish me a Happy Christmas. They were heading out for a few days to her family and syopped on the way ... so that was lovely.
I then prepared/cooked dinner ... roast chicken, roast popatoes, roast parsnips, runner beans & brussel sprouts. Washed down with a large white wine.
I then opened pressies, watched the King, and had the TV on the background while I did a jigsaw puzzle. But, seeing as I had just unwrapped another 3 I want to get this one done. Christine phoned and we had a chat ... but other than that a quiet lazy day.
I have worked today ... not long got in, although I have had lunch already. Now I want to get some icons made, before having another lazy day
Seeing as I am going to Nick & Brenda's tomorrow I will leave with ....
26. What happens in your country regularly that people in other countries would find strange or bizarre?
Boxing Day!
Pancake races
Cheese Rolling
and, of course the true classic - Morris Dancing
27. Was there ever an event in your life that defied explanation?
Lots of silly things ... nothing major that I can think of
Right, icons, here I come
