May Holiday #3
Friday, May 20th, 2022 03:03 pmMemorials are everywhere ... and here are a few that I saw on my holiday to France/Belgium
The Tunnellers Memorial.
As you look through the T it lines up with the lcation of some "buried" Tunnellers. In this case, the place where the only VC Tunneller rsts.
The actual size of the memorial is the cross-section of the channels dug.
On a side note Claire's great grandfather was a tunneller whose name is recored on The Menin Gate.

At Fromelles there were 250 ANZACs recently found, who were un-named. This memorial is nearby, and is called "Cobbers"

Kingston-Upon-Hull, and Jack Harrison VC MC

37th English Division Memorial at Monchy-le-Preux
.JPG?width=590&height=370&fit=bounds)

Newfoundland Memorial

Royal Naval Division Memorial ... and, no, it's nowhere near the sea. The army were short of soldiers, so they "recruited" a division.
