Memorials are everywhere ... and here are a few that I saw on my holiday to France/Belgium

The Tunnellers Memorial.
As you look through the T it lines up with the lcation of some "buried" Tunnellers.  In this case, the place where the only VC Tunneller rsts.
The actual size of the memorial is the cross-section of the channels dug.
On a side note Claire's great grandfather was a tunneller whose name is recored on The Menin Gate.

At Fromelles there were 250 ANZACs recently found, who were un-named.  This memorial is nearby, and is called "Cobbers"

Royal Naval Division Memorial ... and, no, it's nowhere near the sea.  The army were short of soldiers, so they "recruited" a division.

Thank you for these - I am so glad the tunnellers got their own monument, and the Cobbers' one is so poignant.

I knew about the naval division being sent ashore to fight - Pauls' grandfather was a sailor who lost his leg at Ypres (I think Ypres...definitely in the trenches.)
