2 Years On

Yes, we are now 2 years into Covid ... 2 years ago we went into lockdown, and suddenly a new set of phrases, a new way of life arrived.
NHS staff were asked to take a moment to think & remember those who have been lost, and those who have fought, and continued to fight.
So, 2 years later there have been a lot of changes, but yet in some way nothing has changed ... plagues have exsisted throughout history. Hopefully we will learn some lessons, and be able to move on.
Anyway, yesterday was lovely - I will post a couple of photos another time as they were on Tim & Claire's phones. We had a really lovely evening celebrating Mum & Dad ... and laughing (and eating!!). Tomorrow it is their 32nd wedding anniversary, so it was nice to be able to wish them a good day. They have the day off work, and as the weather looks good they are planning a nice day out.
Work was OK, although I really feel I am going to strangle the girl I am training ... she doesn't listen, of if she does she ignores what she is told!!!!!! However to make things "better" we had 2 computers in use, and one suddenly decided to translate the peoples names (and only their names) into Korean ... odd! I re-entered the names, as Maya was "busy", and they stayed in English ... very odd!
Tomorrow afternoon I am going to see Toni & Pete ... so won't be around ... thus 2 days ....
23. Do you think the convenience of technology is worth the loss of privacy that comes with it?
No - there you are, nice easy answer!
24. What is the worst smelling place you've been to?
One or two of the patients that I nursed who were very poorly/sick/passing diarrhoea ... all at the same time!
Catch up on Friday x

Date: 2022-03-24 12:30 pm (UTC)It sounds like a really nice time with Tim and Claire.
I hope your manager/charge nurse/whatever is keeping an eye on Maya and is well aware of the problems. (Funny thing; there were often complaints in our local press that there were too many managers at the hospital, they should have less and more nurses. After talking to a lot of those people a local politician suggested that they simply rename ward managers back to 'sister' and 'charge nurse', not even charge nurse for both sexes. The hospital management decided there was some logic behind this, and gave it a try. Within weeks there were comments in the same papers about how good it was that there were now more 'proper nurses' and they had clearly cut back on the number of useless managers... )
