R.I.P. Prine Philip

Sadly I have just heard the news the Prince Philip passed away this morning at Windsor.

Below is the statement from the palace:

“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.

“Further announcements will be made in due course.

“The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”

I feel very lost - but not as much as The Queen I am sure.  My thoughts and prayers are with her

As soon as I saw this, I thought about you. I'm so very sorry for you and your country. He lived a very amazing long lively life. I hope the family knows how he will be missed.

The country has overall taken his death badly - I think, Royalist or not, people realise how much he did for the Queen, and the Country. So mny people have done the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme ... and apparantly he never missed a Gold Award presentation.
