I have and am dipping in and out of other's Challenge responses.

In some ways many are feeling the same as me - after a tough 2020 for global and/or personal reasons we need this challenge

2020 really was a hard year and it meant a lot of changes for me as I took early retirement to care for my mother.

We start 2021 with much hope and positivity thanks to vaccines but we still have a long road to travel. Snowflake really is a wonderful way to start the year, it bring us all out of hibernation a little bit to cheer one another up and set us in the path to summer πŸ™‚

Sadly at the moment, the UK is more likely to be heading into another lockdown, much of the country seems to want one with the way the case rate is rising. At least my mother has had both of her vaccinations now though. We just have to hope that they work against all these new strains that keep being discovered and that maybe by the summer, there will be enough people vaccinated that things can get return to something a bit more normal.

We're Tier 4 here, so very little is open and our little area is dark purple on the Govt interactive map of cases.

I really think all doctors and nurses should've been done first, you are all doing such an incredible job, whatever area you work in. I'm glad you have yours booked, at least for the first. My mother was really lucky to get her second dose yesterday, right up to the moment we got to Addenbrookes I was on tenterhooks just waiting for it to be cancelled!

I was just listening to a Cambridge scientist on our local news and he didn't think it would make too much difference as most of the protection comes from the first one. He described it as having your house built with all your walls and roof and that the second jab was just a bit more weatherproofing!

Listening to what people are saying it looks like the second jabs from 4 Jan were cancelled and Mum had hers on 3 Jan.

Stay safe ☺️😷

I saw someone else mentioning that snowflake was a useful bit of normalcy in an otherwise completely not normal time, and I liked that phrasing.
