Yes, I was swabbed at 1.30 yesterday and they phoned at 9am this morning.

... And it has come back negative, so back to work tomorrow.

Feeling fine, yet not quite as positive as this time last week, so am going to be more aware - and try to literally do nothing in the afternoons (not that I did much anyway!!)

Hope you are all having a good Father's Day ... missing mine, but will admit since this pandemic started I actually have been pleased neither Mum or Dad have had to cope with all the changes.

Thank God your test came back negative!

No, you're right about the worry for the elderly, during these perilous times. My mother was a smoker, too. High risk.

Testing turnaround time has definitely improved! And hurrah for the confirmation of what you knew in yourself.

I have seen so many people saying the same thing about elderly parents who are no longer with us - and I feel the same, too.

I had the same thought about my own mom. She would have been terrified by all of this. She was a toddler during the Spanish flu. My father's father died from that flu. I am careful, but she would have worried herself I'll because I am still working. She would have tried to force me to stay home. We have a very stressful new normal now.

We have had a surge in cases since they've opened up so much. A lot of people refuse to wear masks. Trump people are convinced it's a plot to take away their rights if they are forced to wear masks. Idiots.

People were in such a hurry to open again. They only care about themselves. Here they were in a rush to go to bars and crowded areas with no masks. So we had a surge and now lots of cases.

Even though you thought it wasn't Covid it still must have been a relief.

I feel the same about my dad. If he were alive today, he'd be 79. He had ankylosing spondylitis, which affects the immune system and was a (closet) smoker. Imagine a Baptist preacher begin a closet smoker! (Well there are plenty of people, Baptist or not, who talk against smoking in public but do it in private - it's a nasty addiction. Glad I never picked it up!) This would've been a very difficult time for him.

Take good care of yourself!!
