When I saw what today's post was, I did wonder what I could take a picture of. This morning I woke up feeling rough, and ended up seeing my doctor, who told me I had a viral throat infection ... and that me throat looked red raw ... maybe I should have got him to take a picture for me!

However I got to Mum and Dad's at the same time as Dad returned from the shops with
Photobucket

Mum and Dad moved into their first house together 59 years ago and he bought her a plant as a pressie ... ever year another one arrives on the kitchen table.  A nice bright spot in a day.

And I love pansies. In German, they're called Stiefmütterchen / little stepmothers, I suppose because they look a bit like the faces of little, old-fashioned, bonneted ladies. Flowers are always a joy.

Your dad's a romantic old soul, that's a lovely thing to do for your mum each year, and such a pretty plant, too.

Hope the throat feels better soon.
