debris4spike: (Christmas Tree + James)

First let me thank [livejournal.com profile] calturner and [livejournal.com profile] mabel_marsters  for their cards - it seems as if the English Post Office is working, although the times of deliveries are varying.  I hope that my crads and gifts are also getting through - as my place is looking festive with so many special wishes from around the world.

For those who commented yesterday - THANK YOU - my hand is already feeling a bit better, so I'm hoping that it will be OK by the time I go back to Mum & Dad's tomorrow ... [livejournal.com profile] kudagirl asked me if it meant I got out of doing the washing up ... well, I daren't!  Last year I was in bed ill ... 2 years ago I had only just damaged the other hand ... so, better try and stay healthy this year, otherwise I will never hear the end of it from Mum!

Hope you enjoy the following, sent to me by a friend - and for any in H&S, I don't mean to offend.

Health and safety recommendations for the festive season:-

The singing of Christmas related Carols, Songs and Hymns at this time of year, whilst traditional, highlight some real SHEF issues. Please read the following guidelines and ensure you are compliant in all areas:

Jingle Bells
Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way

A risk assessment must be submitted before an open sleigh is considered safe for members of the public to travel on. The risk assessment must also consider whether it is appropriate to use only one horse for such a venture, particularly if passengers are of larger proportions. Please note, permission must be gained from landowners before entering their fields. To avoid offending those not participating in celebrations, we would request that laughter is moderate only and not loud enough to be considered a noise nuisance.

Blue Christmas

debris4spike: (Christmas Tree + James)

I've just spoken to Tim, and he still can't move his car - so we have come up with a contingency plan ... I'll go and pick him and Claire up for Christmas dinner, the Queen's speach and a few pressies, before taking them home again!

It just reminded me that with the weather that we have maybe there will be others who won't get to spend Christmas with their loved ones ... and, as ever, there are those who can't be with the people they love over the holiday period.

So, thought I would share my favourite Elvis Presley Christmas song -

I do hope that, even if not with those you love, you will have a wonderful Christmas season.
